What should I look for when buying a used BMW i7?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Highway Assistant, which BMW says enables hands-free driving on divided highways at speeds up to 80 mph.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen, and the iDrive system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Range & charging: The i7 maxes out at 318 miles of driving range, BMW says it can recharge in 10.5 hours on a 240-volt Level 2 source, and DC fast charging can take it from 10% to 80% in an estimated 34 minutes.
• Battery health: When shopping used, check battery state-of-health, review how the car has been charged over time, and confirm the remaining battery warranty.

Which BMW i7 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW i7 offers these trims:

• i7 xDrive60: The sole 2023 trim is the launch version, and it brings the standard dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, strong performance, and the flagship-luxury feel that defines the model. It suits you if you want the original i7 experience and the best-value entry into the lineup.

What BMW i7 do most buyers choose?

The BMW i7 years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-listing years usually give you more shopping choice, easier price comparison, and a better chance of finding the color, equipment, and condition you want. That combination often makes them the most practical used picks.

What is the BMW i7's resale value?

Both model years show notable price declines, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The larger drop on the newer year suggests recent inventory has softened more sharply, while the older year has also moved down meaningfully. The 2023 and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the BMW i7 safe?

• 2023: 6/10

The i7 comes standard with basic driver-assist tech like forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking.

For the safest used buy, the 2023 model posts the highest confirmed score of 6/10.

Should I buy a used BMW i7 now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −21.62% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −12.18%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 34.8% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 34.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $65,371. The BMW i7 offers a traditional flagship-sedan presence with a smooth ride and a distinctive luxury cabin.

Consider waiting if:

• Range & charging: The i7’s standard dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain is rated at 536 horsepower and 549 pound-feet of torque, BMW quotes a zero to 60 mph time of 4.9 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 149 mph.
• Tech: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen in the same housing for one continuous screen, and connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Highway Assistant, which BMW says enables hands-free driving on divided highways at speeds up to 80 mph.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
