I own a 2022 X6 40i xDrive with M Sport, Driving Assistance Professional, Premium, Luxury Seating packages with several other options. The X6 is competent, fun to drive and delivers excellent performance and handling. I personally find all around visibility to be very good despite the coupè style shape. Visibility is also enhanced with the excellent blind spot monitoring system. The car is packed with advanced safety features that I like. Seating is comfortable and the messaging seats enhances that on long journeys. I would, however, want better side bolstering. The Driving Assistance Professional package provides adaptive cruise control and semi-autonomous driving with lane change assistance. This is a must have if you do a lot of long distance driving. Complaints are some features such as front and rear seat heating, premium sound, surround view cameras, leather dashboard and some of the other technology I have due to purchasing the various packages/options should be standard for a vehicle costing in excess of $80,000! I feel BMW got stingy when designing the X6s standard features. Overall the good outweighs and exceeds the bad - so much so that I just ordered a 2023 that is fully loaded with some additional options I didnt include in my 2022 build. I recommend the X6 but advise buyers to understand the various options very well if youre doing a factory order and check all features on vehicles in the dealers inventory. Much of what is suggested as standard features in advertising are not.

The 2025 BMW X6 stands out because it still leans into the original crossover-coupe idea that made the model distinctive in the first place: a low, fastback shape with a sportier attitude than a conventional SUV. In this generation, BMW gave it a sleeker roofline, a lower stance, huge wheels, and a more aggressive body kit, along with wider taillights, enlarged fender flares, and a wider front grille with optional backlighting. It also grew slightly in size, which helped support the X6’s more substantial road presence.
The 2025 model also benefits from the X6’s emphasis on performance hardware and upscale equipment. Standard features include a panoramic moonroof, two 12.3-inch displays running iDrive 7, navigation, adaptive LED headlights, blind-spot monitors, forward emergency braking, lane-departure warning, heated front seats, and a sports leather steering wheel. The six-cylinder version added a mild hybrid setup for 2021, and the 2024 refresh brought updated lighting with sequential turn signals, new fascias and bumpers, new wheels, more power for the xDrive40i, and an optional Highway Assistant for hands-free driving. For 2025, BMW updated smartphone apps, navigation, digital keys, and the Highway Assistant.
That said, the X6 remains a style-first luxury SUV, so its compromises are part of the package.
