- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $69,266.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Customers say
The BMW X6 has garnered a strong following for its powerful performance, sporty handling, and luxurious comfort over the years. Owners especially appreciate the stylish design and advanced technology, which enhance the driving experience. However, some drivers express concerns about maintenance costs and the pricing of certain features that they believe should be standard in a vehicle of this caliber. Overall, the positives of performance and comfort seem to outweigh the negatives, making it a compelling option for those seeking a sporty yet practical vehicle.

All the features with this style are really nice and cozy. The Head up feature is really nice to have with this particular vehicle. Other than a newer year and less mileage, there is no comparison!

I own a 2022 X6 40i xDrive with M Sport, Driving Assistance Professional, Premium, Luxury Seating packages with several other options. The X6 is competent, fun to drive and delivers excellent performance and handling. I personally find all around visibility to be very good despite the coupè style shape. Visibility is also enhanced with the excellent blind spot monitoring system. The car is packed with advanced safety features that I like. Seating is comfortable and the messaging seats enhances that on long journeys. I would, however, want better side bolstering. The Driving Assistance Professional package provides adaptive cruise control and semi-autonomous driving with lane change assistance. This is a must have if you do a lot of long distance driving. Complaints are some features such as front and rear seat heating, premium sound, surround view cameras, leather dashboard and some of the other technology I have due to purchasing the various packages/options should be standard for a vehicle costing in excess of $80,000! I feel BMW got stingy when designing the X6s standard features. Overall the good outweighs and exceeds the bad - so much so that I just ordered a 2023 that is fully loaded with some additional options I didnt include in my 2022 build. I recommend the X6 but advise buyers to understand the various options very well if youre doing a factory order and check all features on vehicles in the dealers inventory. Much of what is suggested as standard features in advertising are not.

Why it stands out
The 2025 BMW X6 stands out because it still leans into the original crossover-coupe idea that made the nameplate distinctive in the first place: a fastback SUV shape with a sportier, more dramatic look than a conventional utility vehicle. In this generation, BMW gave it a lower stance, a sleeker roofline, larger wheels, and more aggressive bodywork, along with a wider front grille and updated lighting. It also keeps the X6’s core appeal as a performance-oriented luxury SUV, with strong engines, a sport suspension, and a richly equipped cabin.
For 2025, the X6 builds on the prior refresh with updates to smartphone apps, navigation, digital keys, and the Highway Assistant. The cabin remains a major selling point, with a panoramic moonroof, two 12.3-inch displays running iDrive 7, navigation, adaptive LED headlights, blind-spot monitors, forward emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and heated front seats among the standard equipment. Buyers looking for more power and equipment will also find the upper trim especially well appointed, with features such as a sport differential, larger brakes, multi-contour seats, four-zone climate control, a Harman Kardon stereo, Wi-Fi, and wireless charging.
The tradeoffs are part of the X6’s identity. Cargo space is not its strong suit, and fuel economy is also a weakness. Even so, the 2025 BMW X6 remains appealing for shoppers who want a luxury SUV that emphasizes style, strong road manners, and a high level of technology rather than maximum practicality.
