• 840i xDrive: This adds all-wheel drive to the 840i formula for extra traction while keeping the same balanced grand touring character.

What BMW 8 Series do most buyers choose?

The BMW 8 Series years with the most listings are 2023, 2025, and 2022.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choice in body style, trim, and price, which makes them easier starting points when you want to compare listings side by side. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because inventory is deeper and easier to shop.

What is the BMW 8 Series's resale value?

Most model years are moving lower year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer years, while the older years show smaller declines. That pattern gives you more room to find value without giving up the 8 Series’s premium character.

The 2019, 2021, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
