What Audi A5 do most buyers choose?
The Audi A5 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |

| 2019 | 229 | 35.8% |
| 2018 | 229 | 38% |

What is the Audi A5's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $41,231 | −21.06% |
| 2014 | $10,546 | −8.68% |
| 2019 | $22,653 | −7.58% |

| 2024 | $50,704 | −5.26% |
| 2018 | $19,449 | −4.52% |
The table shows broad downward movement across the model years listed, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The largest drop is on the newest model year, while the smaller declines on several older and recent years suggest a more measured shift in value for those trims.
The 2018, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Audi A5 now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −21.06% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −5.26%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 36.2% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37.7%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $41,231.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Audi A5 stands out as a stylish luxury car that blends a premium feel with practical everyday usability. In its second generation, the A5 was redesigned for the 2018 model year and expanded beyond the original coupe formula to include a five-door Sportback, giving buyers a sleeker alternative with more cargo flexibility. The Sportback’s sloping roofline opens to a generous cargo area, while the coupe and convertible remain the more style-focused choices. Audi also gave the A5 a rear-biased quattro AWD system, helping it keep some of the sporty character that has long defined the nameplate.
For 2024, Audi added extra standard driver assistance tech, including adaptive cruise control and a lane-assist function. The A5 also carries a 10.1-inch touchscreen, which replaced the older infotainment system for the 2020 model year, and its cabin includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers looking at this generation get a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and the 2021 update added a mild hybrid system that boosted output to 261 hp. That makes the 2024 A5 appealing as a refined, well-equipped luxury car that still offers respectable performance.
There are tradeoffs, though. The coupe’s trunk is less practical than the Sportback’s cargo area, and the convertible gives up around three cubic feet of trunk space because of its folding soft top. The manual transmission was dropped after 2019, so the 2024 A5 is aimed more at comfort, technology, and all-wheel-drive confidence than at old-school driver involvement.
