| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $40,956 | −20.71% |
| 2014 | $10,459 | −9.7% |
| 2019 | $22,376 | −7.69% |

The largest drop is especially sharp on the newest model year, while several other years show smaller but still meaningful declines. That pattern gives you more room to find value across recent and older examples alike.
The 2018, 2015, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Should I buy a used Audi A5 now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:

- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 41.5% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 43.3%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $40,956.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the newest version, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Audi A5 stands out as a stylish luxury car that blends a premium feel with a practical body style. By this point in the second generation, Audi had already broadened the A5 lineup beyond the original coupe formula, and the model’s appeal came from its sleek design, available hatchback utility, and upscale cabin. It also offered a strong mix of standard equipment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a reputation for being a comfortable, well-equipped choice in its class.
For 2024, Audi added extra standard driver-assistance technology, including adaptive cruise control and a lane-assist function. The A5’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine was paired with a mild hybrid system for this model year, and the car continued to send power to all four wheels through Audi’s rear-biased quattro AWD system. That combination helped the A5 feel polished and secure, while the available Sportback body style gave it more everyday usefulness than a traditional coupe.
There are tradeoffs, though. The A5 was not the most powerful or most spacious option in its segment, and the coupe’s back seat was cramped. Even so, the 2024 Audi A5 remained appealing for buyers who wanted a refined, good-looking luxury car with useful technology and a more versatile shape than many rivals.
