New & Used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearPrinceton, NJ

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It’s aimed at you if you want a three-row luxury SUV with room for six or seven people, up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space, and the comfort-and-space feel of a flagship Mercedes sedan in SUV form. For 2027, Mercedes also updated the styling, cabin tech, and powertrains, so you get a more modern GLS without losing its core luxury-family-hauler mission.

The trade-offs are that its design may not appeal to everyone and some ergonomic issues remain. Even so, the GLS still comes across as a well-executed luxury SUV with strong capability and high-end technology.

Good and great deals account for 31.8% of listings, so there’s a meaningful amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented as a refined, well-executed luxury SUV with updated powertrains and technology, and Mercedes says the 2027 changes improve responsiveness while reducing noise, vibration, and harshness. The standard powertrains also use an integrated starter/generator electric motor to improve efficiency, which supports smoother operation.

Mercedes’ cost-effectiveness notes also point to a first-class ownership experience in the GLS 450’s pricing and equipment mix, with the base inline-six described as all the engine many drivers need. That suggests the six-cylinder model should be the safer long-term bet for used buyers who want to balance complexity, performance, and running costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GLS’s high-end technology and available hardware can make repairs and upkeep more expensive if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect the vehicle carefully, especially if you’re considering one with more equipment or larger wheels. Pay close attention to cabin condition, electronics, and suspension behavior, since this is a luxury SUV with a lot of technology and available hardware.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard lineup includes GLS 450 4Matic and GLS 580 4Matic models, with AMG GLS 63 and Maybach GLS 680 also available. Base models are less restrained in appearance than earlier versions, and the GLS 450 is the one that starts without some of the richer equipment found higher up.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, while the GLS 580 uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 530 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. All GLS models use an integrated starter/generator electric motor, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go. Optional features include steering assist, lane-change assist, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a Superscreen with three 12.3-inch displays, including a front-passenger screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are retained, and the system runs Mercedes’ MB.OS-based MBUX software.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLS 450 is expected to return 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway). The V8 models do not have 2027 estimates listed here.

Which 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450 4Matic, GLS 580 4Matic, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 680.

Here’s the short version:

• GLS 450 4Matic: This is the best-value choice if you want the GLS experience without jumping into six-figure territory. It still gives you the updated cabin tech, strong standard equipment, and the inline-six powertrain that Mercedes says is all many drivers need.
• GLS 580 4Matic: Choose this if you want noticeably stronger performance and a more effortless feel from the V8. It’s the right step up if you care more about power and refinement than keeping the purchase price in check.
• AMG GLS 63: This is the performance-focused choice, with the highest-output version of the V8, a performance-tuned transmission and suspension, a limited-slip differential, and beefier brakes.
• Maybach GLS 680: Pick this if you want the most luxurious, most exclusive GLS experience and are willing to pay for it.

Optional steering assist, lane-change assist, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system are available at launch.

Should I buy a 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?
