New & Used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE for Sale nearJohnston, RI

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns an expert rating of 7.33/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

For 2027, the GLE leans into comfort, technology, and breadth of choice rather than flash. It gets a refresh with new styling details, a standard MBUX Superscreen, and MB.Drive Assist Pro, which adds hands-on Level 2 driver assistance. That makes it a strong fit if you want a premium SUV that feels current and family-focused without chasing a sportier personality.

The main trade-offs are that the most powerful versions are expensive, and the GLE remains more comfort-oriented than sporty. It also asks you to accept a design that may not appeal to everyone.

Good and great deals account for 34.3% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is positioned as a refined, well-equipped luxury SUV, and Mercedes’ updates focus on keeping the platform current rather than reinventing it. The powertrain lineup is broad, with four-, six-, and eight-cylinder options plus plug-in hybrids, and the standard 4Matic all-wheel drive and nine-speed automatic should give you a familiar ownership experience.

Mercedes also emphasizes durability-minded safety systems such as Pre-Safe, which can close windows and tighten seatbelts before a crash, and Pre-Safe Sound, which plays pink noise to help protect hearing. The refreshed tech stack and upgraded engines suggest a vehicle built to stay relevant, but the long-term ownership risk for used buyers will still depend heavily on maintenance history and how complex the specific trim is.

What should I look for when buying a used 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-inventory rate, you should still run a history report and verify that the specific vehicle has no unresolved damage or title issues. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a luxury SUV with multiple powertrain choices and a lot of technology. Focus on condition, electronics, and whether the equipment matches the trim you think you’re buying.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Entry-level models use MB-Tex artificial leather and a lot of grained plastic, while higher trims can add wood trim, real leather upholstery, and more vibrant Manufaktur interior colors. The base model also misses some of the richer cabin materials that make the GLE feel more upscale.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 255-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 375-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a 530-horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, and plug-in hybrid setups with 429 horsepower and 577 horsepower. The four-cylinder is the efficiency play, while the V8 and AMG variants are the performance-focused choices.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a stop light, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. A parking-assist system and surround-view camera are available, and some features may arrive later pending regulatory approval.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is the MBUX Superscreen, which combines three 12.3-inch displays under one glass panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are retained, and the system runs Mercedes’ MB.OS software with an AI-enhanced voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway), and the turbo-six is rated at 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway). The plug-in hybrid also supports DC fast charging, with a 10-80% charge time of 29 minutes.

Which 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 6 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, GLE 500e 4Matic, GLE 580 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 Hybrid, AMG GLE 63 S.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the GLE experience at the lowest price. It gives you the core luxury-SUV formula, standard all-wheel drive, and the refreshed tech and safety equipment without pushing into the pricier powertrains.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds the stronger inline-six and still stays below the plug-in hybrid and V8 models. If you want a more effortless feel without jumping deep into luxury-car pricing, this is the trim to target.
• GLE 500e 4Matic: Choose this if you want plug-in hybrid capability and the strongest efficiency-minded setup in the regular lineup. It brings 429 horsepower and about 50 miles of electric range, plus DC fast charging support.
• GLE 580 4Matic: This is the V8 choice for buyers who want the most relaxed and special-feeling non-AMG GLE. It is powerful, expensive, and aimed at shoppers who want the richest version of the standard SUV.
• AMG GLE 53 Hybrid: This is the performance-oriented plug-in hybrid, with 577 horsepower, AMG-specific chassis hardware, and a more aggressive setup than the standard models.
• AMG GLE 63 S: This is the top performance trim, with 603 horsepower and chassis upgrades that put it at the top of the range for outright speed and capability.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but Mercedes says the sensor suite can support more advanced driver-assistance features, and some functions may become available later.

• It adds a major refresh with new styling, updated tech, and upgraded powertrains.
