New & Used 2026 Toyota Sienna for Sale nearCarbondale, IL

Is the 2026 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from users and 6.5/10 from CarGurus experts. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2026 Toyota Sienna fits the family-hauler brief well: it has power sliding side doors, three rows of comfortable seats, and expandable cargo room, so it works especially well if you want a practical people mover. It also brings standard hybrid power and best-in-class fuel economy, which makes it a strong choice if you care about spending less time at the pump.

The trade-offs are real, though. The Sienna’s maximum cargo room trails other minivans, its interior materials feel cheap, and it is described as boring to drive.

Even so, the market looks supportive, with 41.9% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Sienna is framed as a practical, efficiency-focused minivan with standard hybrid power and a reputation for long-term reliability. Its powertrain is described as foundationally sound, and the electric motor’s instant torque helps it feel agreeable in city and suburban driving.

Toyota also includes two years or 25,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Sienna’s mixed safety performance and modest driving refinement may matter more as mileage and age add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Sienna?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible interior wear. Focus on cabin condition, brake feel, and how the technology and driver-assist systems operate in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Toyota sells the Sienna in LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum trim levels. The Woodland Edition stands out with a subtle suspension lift, unique styling, and a darker cabin, but it also shows more cheap plastic inside and does not feel especially rugged despite the name.
• Powertrain: All Siennas are hybrids with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine, a nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and an electric motor. Standard front-wheel drive is paired with optional AWD on most trims, while the Woodland Edition and Platinum get standard e-AWD.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-centering assist. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are also included, while front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are standard on the Woodland Edition and other higher trims.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with SiriusXM satellite radio and connected-service trials.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD Sienna should get 35 mpg combined, and testing returned 31.1 mpg on a fuel-efficiency loop and 26.8 mpg on a mountainous route.

Which 2026 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Sienna’s core hybrid efficiency and family-friendly layout at the lowest price.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing too far up the price ladder.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier-looking Sienna with a more expressive personality than the lower trims.
• Limited: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it.
• Woodland Edition: This is the one to get if you want the most distinctive Sienna, plus standard e-AWD and extra ground clearance for winter traction and light-duty rough roads.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice if you want the most equipment and the most premium presentation.

The Woodland Edition and other higher trim levels add front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

Is the 2026 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2026 Toyota Sienna earned a mediocre three-star driver protection rating and a four-star front passenger protection rating from NHTSA, while also getting five-star ratings in each side-impact test and a four-star rollover resistance rating. It does not qualify for a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes high-beam assist, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-centering assist. Blind-spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are also included, and higher trims add front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

The main caveat is the IIHS moderate overlap front-impact result, which was Marginal for second-row occupant protection.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 41.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It emphasizes standard hybrid efficiency, sliding side doors, and available AWD for family use.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It pairs a standard hybrid powertrain with practical everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer Sienna with strong market availability and the same core family-friendly formula, the 2026 is the cleaner pick. If you are shopping mainly on value and can live with an older model year, the 2025 is still worth a look for its efficiency and convenience.
