New & Used 2026 Toyota Sequoia for Sale nearCortez, CO

Is the 2026 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

The 2026 Toyota Sequoia earns a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It’s built for you if you want a full-size, body-on-frame SUV with real towing ability, three-row seating for up to eight, and a more premium feel than a basic workhorse. The hybrid powertrain gives it strong passing punch and helps it stand out among large SUVs, while the lineup spans utility-focused and upscale trims. The trade-offs are clear: the Sequoia’s truck-based layout can make it feel less space-efficient than some rivals, and the hybrid setup only delivers modest efficiency gains. Good and great deals account for 32.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

The 2026 Toyota Sequoia is presented as a truck-based SUV built around Toyota’s hybrid i-Force Max setup, and the expert data emphasizes strong power delivery and a durable, body-on-frame mission. Its powertrain feels like a V8, pulls hard from a stop, and is paired with a 10-speed automatic, which supports the sense that it’s engineered for heavy-duty use rather than delicate commuting.

Toyota also includes standard safety and convenience hardware that should help everyday ownership feel straightforward, including a surround-view camera system and parking sensors. The hybrid system adds efficiency without changing the Sequoia’s core job, and the expert data notes that it still does what a body-on-frame SUV is meant to do: carry people and tow heavy loads.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Sequoia’s size, weight, and truck-based packaging can make wear-and-tear costs and day-to-day livability more demanding than in a lighter SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Sequoia?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of heavy use, since this is a large SUV that may have lived a harder life than a typical family hauler.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR5 comes with cloth upholstery, while the other trims have real leather, and the Platinum and Capstone add contrast stitching. The cabin quality is only acceptable at these prices, so you should pay close attention to material quality and whether the trim level you’re considering adds enough comfort to justify the jump.
• Powertrain: The Sequoia uses a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 hybrid setup with 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. It feels strong from a stop, has lots of passing punch, and can tow up to 9,520 pounds.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, and traffic-sign recognition. Also standard are blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. No safety options are offered beyond the standard equipment.
• Infotainment: The Sequoia has a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, though moving up one trim level or selecting an option on the base SR5 brings a 14-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the larger screen is easier to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sequoia is EPA rated at up to 21 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive, or 19/22/20 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2026 Toyota Sequoia trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota Sequoia is offered in 6 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, 1794 Edition, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Sequoia’s core hybrid powertrain, standard safety tech, and basic family-hauling capability. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point and plan to add only the options you truly need.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you up from the base SR5 while keeping the Sequoia’s main strengths intact. It’s the trim to target if you want a more polished experience without chasing the highest-priced versions.
• Platinum: This trim leans more upscale, with real leather and contrast stitching, so it suits you if comfort and a more premium cabin matter more than keeping costs down.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused choice. It adds all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension, a front grille light bar, an aluminum front skid plate, and all-weather floor mats, so it’s the one to buy if you want the most specialized capability.
• 1794 Edition: This is the luxury-leaning Texas-themed model in the lineup, and it’s the right pick if you want a more distinctive upscale personality.
• Capstone: This is the top-end trim, with body-colored wheel flares and the most premium positioning in the range. Choose it if you want the most upscale Sequoia experience and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, and there are no safety options beyond the standard equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Toyota Sequoia?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Clean inventory: 97.1% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Toyota Sequoia safe?

The 2026 Toyota Sequoia scored a top Good in the IIHS small overlap and updated side crash tests, and a Marginal score in the updated moderate front overlap test. Its available headlights split their scores between the worst Poor score and a top Good score, and its front crash prevention system gets a Good rating for pedestrian avoidance but only a Marginal vehicle-to-vehicle rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, and traffic-sign recognition. Also standard are blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is that Toyota does not offer a hands-free highway driving system, and the IIHS results are mixed because of the Marginal moderate front overlap score and the split headlight ratings.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2026 stands out for its strong hybrid powertrain, standard safety tech, and broad trim spread.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The 2025 adds a Texas-themed 1794 Edition and emphasizes towing strength with familiar hybrid power.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version with strong market availability and a well-rounded mix of capability, the 2026 is the better primary target. If you’re shopping more for value than freshness, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers the same basic Sequoia formula with a similar capability focus.
