New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 7.8/10 expert rating, and it is aimed at you if you want a three-row Mercedes SUV with the brand’s most passenger room and cargo space. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Its appeal comes from a comfort-focused luxury setup: premium interior materials, a quiet cabin, a composed ride, and strong technology all support its upscale mission. The trade-offs are clear, though: fuel economy is unimpressive, and the third row is not especially easy to access. It also gives up some cargo space to rivals, even if it remains a strong fit for you if refinement, manageable size, and rewarding driving dynamics matter more than maximum utility.

Good and great deals account for 35.7% of listings, which gives you a moderate amount of shopping leverage.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented as a polished, comfort-first luxury SUV with a refined ride and solid driving dynamics, and its standard Airmatic adaptive suspension helps support that impression. The turbocharged inline-six powertrain is described as smooth and capable, though it can show occasional delays in responsiveness and unwanted lurching in Comfort mode.

Mercedes also includes a complimentary one-year subscription to Digital Extras, which adds some ownership value on the tech side. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a complex, high-end SUV like this can be costly to keep in top shape if you want to preserve its comfort and technology advantages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the vehicle’s comfort and technology features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the base version, and it comes with standard artificial leather, dual 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Higher trims add more power and luxury, while the base trim already delivers the core comfort and tech experience.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with mild-hybrid assist, making 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Nearly 40 safety and driver-assistance systems are standard, including Pre-Safe, Crosswind Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system. Rear-seat side-impact airbags are optional rather than standard, and the hands-on highway assist system is not a hands-free setup.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses dual 12.3-inch displays with MBUX, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard navigation with augmented reality enhancement, and standard Burmester surround sound with Dolby Atmos. A 9.5-inch head-up display and rear-seat screens are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLS 450 is EPA-rated at 21 mpg combined, and the test drive returned 19.4 mpg on a mountainous route.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the best-value choice if you want the core GLS experience without chasing extra power or opulence. It already gives you the comfortable ride, strong standard tech, and luxury atmosphere that define the model.
• GLS 580: Choose this if you want more performance and a higher-end feel than the GLS 450, while staying within the mainstream GLS lineup.
• AMG GLS 63: This is the performance-focused choice for you if you want the most aggressive driving character in the range.
• Maybach GLS 600: Pick this if your priority is maximum luxury and exclusivity rather than value.

Rear-seat side-impact airbags are optional rather than standard equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so you have some room to shop carefully without facing a severely tight supply.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,026 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 96.8% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS does not have a crash-test rating cited here, but it does come with nearly 40 standard safety and driver-assistance systems, including Pre-Safe, Crosswind Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard setup is strong, but there are a couple of caveats you should know about. Rear-seat side-impact airbags are optional rather than standard, and the hands-on highway driver-assistance system is not a hands-free feature. The system also showed some wandering in curves during testing, so you should treat it as a driver aid rather than a substitute for attention.

Should I buy a 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It delivers a comfort-focused, tech-rich three-row luxury SUV with strong passenger room and rewarding driving dynamics.

Consider the 2027 if:

• It adds a major cabin and styling update with a standard three-screen MBUX Superscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the better-value used buy, the 2026 is the smarter path because it already delivers the GLS’s core strengths: space, comfort, and upscale tech. If you care most about the newest interior and updated design, the 2027 is the better target, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2026.
