New & Used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA for Sale nearMalibu, CA

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Mercedes has redesigned the compact CLA as an electric entry-level fastback sedan, and that shift is the core of its appeal. It’s aimed at you if you want a smaller Mercedes with a modern EV setup, impressive range, and the kind of technology that fits a compact luxury car. The cabin is described as quiet and finished with premium interior materials, and the tech package is a clear strength.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the base powertrain is underwhelming, the design may not be for everyone, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, if you want a stylish, comfortable, tech-forward luxury EV rather than the quickest or most fully equipped one, this CLA fits that brief well.

Good and great deals make up 36.2% of listings, which gives you a decent amount of market flexibility.

Is the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA is presented as a comfortable, easy-to-live-with luxury EV with a quiet cabin and a ride that stays composed and confident. The expert drive notes also point to smooth, quiet road manners, even if there’s a slight shudder when the car changes gears.

On the durability side, the performance notes highlight a two-speed transmission that helps balance low-speed acceleration with highway efficiency, and the charging setup is built around an 800-volt system for quick DC fast charging. Mercedes also says the car can go from a 10-percent to 80-percent state of charge in 22 minutes, which supports convenient day-to-day use.

Mercedes has not yet released pricing for the electric CLA, but the ownership picture still suggests a premium-car experience with premium-car complexity. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about expensive repairs and system complexity than basic drivability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a car with higher mileage or a heavy option load. Focus on the condition of the cabin tech, charging equipment, and any driver-assistance features you plan to rely on. Because this CLA leans so heavily on electronics and software, you’ll want to make sure everything works as intended before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Rear-wheel drive CLA 250+ and all-wheel drive CLA 350 4Matic models are available at launch. The cabin brings premium materials, but the rear window switch setup is simplified, and the passenger-screen setup can change the interior feel depending on how it’s equipped.
• Powertrain: The single-motor 250+ is the efficiency-focused setup, while the dual-motor CLA 350 4Matic adds more power. The car uses an 85-kWh battery, a two-speed transmission, and an 800-volt charging system.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring with exit assist, emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition. Active steering, lane change assist, automatic lane change, a 360-degree camera system, and parking assist are available, so you’ll want to check whether a used example has the features you want.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch driver display and a 14-inch center display with the fourth-generation MBUX system and MB.OS. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, OTA updates are supported, and augmented-reality navigation is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The single-motor CLA is rated at 492 miles on the WLTP cycle, and Mercedes says the car can add over 200 miles of range in 10 minutes on a fast charger.

Which 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA is offered in 2 trim levels: CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• CLA 250+: This is the better-value choice if you want the CLA’s core appeal without paying for the extra power of the dual-motor setup. It still gives you the quiet cabin, premium materials, strong tech, and the long-range focus that define the car.
• CLA 350 4Matic: Choose this if you want the more powerful all-wheel-drive version and are willing to pay more for stronger acceleration and added traction.

Standard safety equipment includes a center airbag plus adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring with exit assist, emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition. Active steering, lane change assist, automatic lane change, a 360-degree camera system, and parking assist are available.

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Mercedes has redesigned the compact CLA as an EV, giving you an entry-level fastback sedan with an electric powertrain and a strong technology focus.

The bottom line: If you want the newest CLA’s electric setup, high-tech cabin, and premium feel, the 2026 is the right direction to go. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense, especially if you’re willing to trade away the latest EV-specific packaging for a lower purchase price.
