New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-90 for Sale nearPoughkeepsie, NY

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Mazda CX-90 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a three-row midsize crossover SUV with a premium look and feel, and it is aimed at you if you want something practical that still feels enjoyable to drive. The CX-90’s strong handling helps it deliver on that promise, and its safety ratings add to its appeal as a family SUV.

The trade-offs are clear: the powertrain is described as unrefined, the third row is cramped, and the technology can be unintuitive.

For shoppers who value style, safety, and driving enjoyment, the CX-90 has a lot going for it, and 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is presented as a solid family SUV with strong safety ratings and a premium feel, and its standard gasoline powertrain is described as fairly fuel efficient. The expert evaluation also notes that the turbocharged six-cylinder engine is surprisingly fuel efficient unless you regularly dig into the power.

Mazda also makes the first scheduled maintenance visit on the house for some buyers, which helps early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the powertrain and technology can feel clunky or uneven, so you should pay close attention to how the vehicle drives and operates during a test drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and focus on how the drivetrain, brakes, and infotainment behave in real-world use. Pay extra attention to whether the vehicle feels smooth at startup and whether the controls make sense to you, since the CX-90’s powertrain and technology can be frustrating.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Select trim gets a 10.25-inch infotainment display, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and the standard driver-assist suite, but it misses front and rear parking sensors. Higher trims add a larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging, while Premium Sport and above add more advanced safety tech.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six makes 280 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque on regular gas, while the Turbo S version makes more power and the plug-in hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor for 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium fuel. All versions use an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go. Premium Sport and higher trims add active blind-spot monitors, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking, while Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The base Select trim uses a 10.25-inch screen, while other trims get a 12.3-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless charging. The larger screen is touch-sensitive only when you use smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating for the 3.3 Turbo and Turbo S is 25 mpg combined, and the plug-in hybrid has an electric-only driving range of 26 miles.

Which 2026 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 10 trim levels: Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-priced CX-90, but it is also the most basic version, with the smaller 10.25-inch display and wired smartphone integration instead of the larger screen and wireless features found higher up the range.
• Preferred: This is the better starting point if you want a more complete everyday setup without jumping too far up the price ladder, especially if you value the CX-90’s upscale feel and family-friendly mission.
• Premium Sport: This is the best-value choice if you want the strongest mix of equipment and safety tech, because it adds more advanced driver assistance and the more polished tech setup.
• Premium Plus: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped CX-90, including the surround-view camera system and the extra safety features that come with the top end of the lineup.

Mazda’s safety package expands as you move up the trims, with Premium Sport and higher gaining additional driver-assistance features and Premium Plus adding the most advanced camera and braking tech.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base Select trim have front and rear parking sensors.

Premium Sport and higher trim levels also add active blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking. Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views.

One caveat is that the steering-assist features are not very sophisticated, and they do not work well in some situations where similar systems in other vehicles do better.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Updates are minor, focused on wheel, color, and trim changes that unify the lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers distinctive powertrain choices and a stylish, premium presentation.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the CX-90 with strong market availability and the same core strengths, the 2026 is the better default choice. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 can still make sense because it delivers the CX-90’s distinctive design and driving character with a similar overall appeal.
