New & Used 2026 Mazda CX-90 for Sale nearAnn Arbor, MI

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Mazda CX-90 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a three-row midsize crossover SUV that blends family-friendly space with a premium look and feel, and it is aimed at buyers who want something practical but still enjoy driving. Mazda’s handling is a clear strength, and the CX-90 also brings solid safety ratings, which helps its case as a family vehicle.

The trade-offs are real: the powertrain is described as unrefined, the third row is cramped, and the technology can be unintuitive. Even so, the overall package still offers a lot if you value style, safety, and driving enjoyment.

Good and great deals account for 39.8% of listings, which suggests there is still meaningful shopping room.

Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90 is presented as a well-rounded family SUV with solid safety ratings and a premium feel, and Mazda’s own materials emphasize that the turbocharged six-cylinder is surprisingly fuel efficient unless you regularly lean on the power. The plug-in hybrid option also broadens the lineup for shoppers who want a different ownership profile.

Mazda also notes that the CX-90 ranks as average in other cost-of-ownership metrics, which keeps expectations grounded. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same clunky power delivery and dated tech that show up in testing may remain part of daily life.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple trims or powertrains. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment behavior, and how the drivetrain feels at low speeds and right after startup, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Select trim gets the smaller 10.25-inch display, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard driver-assist suite, while higher trims add the larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and more convenience features.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged inline-six uses an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD, and the plug-in hybrid adds electric driving capability with a 26-mile electric-only range.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. Premium Sport and higher trims add active blind-spot monitors, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking, while Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views.
• Infotainment: The base Select trim has a 10.25-inch display, Amazon Alexa compatibility, text-messaging support, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other trims get a 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard gasoline powertrain is described as fairly fuel efficient, and the official combined rating for the 3.3 Turbo and Turbo S is 25 mpg. The plug-in hybrid has a 26-mile electric-only range.

Which 2026 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 10 trim levels: Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard 10.25-inch infotainment display, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and the full base safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-90, but you give up the larger screen and several convenience upgrades.
• Preferred: This is the first step up for shoppers who want a more polished daily experience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds the larger 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging, making it the best-value choice for many buyers.
• Premium Sport: This trim adds more advanced driver-assistance content, including active blind-spot monitors, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Cruising & Traffic Support, and post-collision braking. It is the right pick if you want a stronger safety and convenience package.
• Premium Plus: This is the most feature-rich choice in the lineup, adding front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views. Is the 2026 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it earned a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four stars each for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. All but the base Select trim have front and rear parking sensors.

Premium Sport and higher trim levels also add active blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, head-on traffic avoidance steering assist, Mazda’s Cruising & Traffic Support technology, and post-collision braking. Premium Plus adds front cross-traffic alert, automatic intersection braking, automatic rear braking with pedestrian detection, and a surround-view camera system with see-through and trailer-hitch views.

One caveat is that the steering-assist features are not very sophisticated, and they do not work well in some situations where similar systems in other vehicles do better.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2026 update is mostly about wheel, color, and trim changes that unify the lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers unusual powertrains and a stylish, upscale feel.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the CX-90 with strong safety, good market availability, and the same core strengths, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you are shopping more for value than updates, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers the same basic appeal with a similar upscale character.
