New & Used 2026 Lexus IS for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

Is the 2026 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2026 Lexus IS earns an expert rating of 6.83/10. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The 2026 Lexus IS is a small sports sedan that leans into a fun drive, a premium cabin, and a long-standing reputation for reliability. Lexus also refreshed it for 2026 with updated digital instrumentation, infotainment, driver-assistance tech, and revised steering and suspension, so it feels more modern and polished than before.

The trade-offs are real, though: it has poor fuel economy and not much cargo space, and the safety picture is still incomplete. Even so, if you want a luxury sedan that prioritizes driving enjoyment and quality over practicality, the 2026 IS makes a strong case for itself.

The market signal is favorable, with 40.8% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2026 Lexus IS is described as a model with a good reliability track record, and Lexus positions it as a car that should last a long time with proper maintenance. The refreshed 2026 version also keeps the formula focused and straightforward, with a V6-powered IS 350 as the sole model line.

Its powertrain is a smooth, refined 3.5-liter V6 that the expert test drive says sounds terrific when revved and delivers a polished driving experience. Lexus also includes two complimentary scheduled maintenance visits, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s poor fuel economy can make ownership more expensive over time, especially if you drive mostly in the city.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Lexus IS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price. A pre-purchase inspection is especially smart if you’re considering a higher-trim example with more equipment, since the 2026 IS can be optioned with several advanced features. Pay close attention to tire wear, brake feel, and the condition of the interior electronics.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes F Sport Design, F Sport, and F Sport Special Appearance Package models. The F Sport Design is the least expensive, while the F Sport adds a firmer suspension and the option of a Handling Package. The F Sport Special Appearance Package is a limited-production model.
• Powertrain: The IS 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel-drive models use an eight-speed automatic, while all-wheel-drive models use a six-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, pedestrian/cyclist/motorcyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, intersection/oncoming vehicle assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, traffic-sign recognition, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit warning are also standard.
• Infotainment: The cabin gets dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the latest Lexus Interface infotainment software. Connected services can add navigation, remote engine start, and an SOS emergency button.
• Fuel efficiency: The IS 350 is EPA-rated at 22 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Lexus IS trim should I buy?

The 2026 Lexus IS is offered in 3 trim levels: F Sport Design, F Sport, and F Sport Special Appearance Package.

Here's the short version:

• F Sport Design: This is the least expensive way into the lineup, and it gives you the core IS 350 formula with the V6 and the premium cabin. It makes the most sense if you want the car’s style and performance character without paying for extra chassis hardware.
• F Sport: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a firmer suspension and unlocks the optional Handling Package. If you want the most complete version of the IS 350’s sporty personality, this is the trim to target.
• F Sport Special Appearance Package: Choose this if you want the limited-production look and are willing to pay more for exclusivity rather than extra capability.

The Safety System+ 3.0 suite is standard across the lineup, while the Technology Package adds features such as lane-change assist and front cross-traffic alert.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, pedestrian/cyclist/motorcyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, intersection/oncoming vehicle assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, evasive steering assist, traffic-sign recognition, and high-beam assist. The main caveat is the incomplete crash-test picture, especially the Marginal IIHS result.

Should I buy a 2026 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Lexus refreshed the IS for 2026 with updated digital instrumentation, infotainment, driver-assistance tech, and revised steering and suspension.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern version of the IS with the clearest lineup and the latest tech, the 2026 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2026’s refresh and strong market availability make it the most compelling choice for shoppers who want the newest take on the formula.
