New & Used 2026 INFINITI QX80 for Sale near Illinois

Is the 2026 INFINITI QX80 a good car?

The 2026 INFINITI QX80 earns a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

It fits buyers who need a traditional body-on-frame luxury SUV with real space and towing muscle: it can carry up to seven people and tow up to 8,500 pounds. The cabin is described as comfortable and luxurious, and the QX80’s mix of power, towing capacity, interior space, and refinement helps it compete with luxury SUV rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: it is heavy and inefficient, and its fuel economy can be as low as 17 mpg combined. Its massive size also makes handling cumbersome, so it is best suited to buyers who will actually use its size and towing strength.

35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

The 2026 INFINITI QX80 is presented as a traditional body-on-frame SUV with a strong, more rigid platform and a modern twin-turbo V6 powertrain. Infiniti says the body-on-frame platform has 25% more torsional rigidity and 57% more lateral stiffness than the last-generation ladder frame, which points to a sturdier foundation than before.

The powertrain is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the redesign keeps towing capacity at 8,500 pounds. That combination suggests the QX80 is built for sustained capability rather than delicate, low-stress commuting.

Infiniti also backs the QX80 with a 48-month, 60,000-mile warranty, and the model includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its size, complexity, and thirst can make it expensive to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 INFINITI QX80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large luxury SUV with a lot of technology and available suspension hardware. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy use, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pure is the entry point, while the Luxe adds the air suspension and adaptive dampers along with leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and power-folding second- and third-row seats. The Sport is described as an exterior and interior appearance package rather than a true performance upgrade, so the Luxe is the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• Powertrain: The QX80 uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 450 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional on the two base trims and standard on the top pair.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, ProPilot Assist 1.1, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, active blind-spot monitors that cover a trailer, rear automatic braking, front and rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and a surround-view camera system with moving object detection. ProPilot Assist 2.1 is the only option.
• Infotainment: The QX80 has a pair of 14.3-inch screens under one piece of glass, plus another touchscreen angled from the center console to the center stack. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and a 5G connection for a Wi-Fi hotspot and remote services.
• Fuel efficiency: It is rated at 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 17 combined with 4WD, or 16/20/18 mpg with RWD.

Which 2026 INFINITI QX80 trim should I buy?

The 2026 INFINITI QX80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Luxe, Sport, and Autograph.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the entry trim, but it is the one most likely to leave you wanting more because the air suspension and adaptive dampers are not included. It makes sense if you want the QX80’s core space, towing, and luxury presence at the lowest starting price.
• Luxe: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the air suspension, adaptive dampers, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and power-folding second- and third-row seats. If you want the QX80 to feel properly equipped, this is the trim to target.
• Sport: Despite the name, this trim is described as an exterior and interior appearance package rather than a sporty mechanical upgrade. Choose it if you want the darker styling treatment and are willing to pay more for looks.
• Autograph: This is the top trim and brings the full set of goodies, including biometric cooling, massaging seats, heated third-row seats, an in-vehicle camera, a front console coolbox, and the hands-free version of ProPilot Assist. It suits you if you want the most luxurious and most fully equipped QX80.

The standard safety package is broad across the lineup, and ProPilot Assist 2.1 is the only option.
