New & Used 2026 Hyundai Palisade for Sale nearMadison, SD

Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Hyundai Palisade earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Hyundai redesigned this three-row SUV for 2026, and the result is a family-focused vehicle that aims to deliver more style than a minivan while still offering nearly as much utility. The Palisade’s strongest arguments are its spacious cabin, comfortable ride quality, and multiple powertrain options. It is especially appealing if you want a three-row SUV that feels upscale without losing everyday practicality.

The main trade-offs are that fuel economy trails top rivals and the XRT trim gives up some luxury features. Even so, the Palisade’s broad appeal and premium-leaning character make it a strong fit for shoppers who want comfort, space, and a polished driving experience.

With 39.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market availability for value-minded shoppers.

Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Hyundai positions the 2026 Palisade as a refined, well-rounded three-row SUV, and the expert evaluation reinforces that impression with praise for its quiet ride, strong isolation from bumps, and smooth, authoritative shifting. The standard V6 is described as quiet and refined, and the suspension is tuned for comfort without feeling floaty. That combination points to a vehicle designed to handle daily family use with composure.

The cost side also helps the ownership picture: Hyundai backs the Palisade with a generous new-car warranty of five years or 60,000 miles and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, that can reduce long-term ownership risk, especially if you choose a well-maintained example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Hyundai Palisade?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-trim or AWD examples where equipment and complexity are greater. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping the XRT Pro or a loaded Calligraphy, make sure the added equipment is intact and functioning as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE has a much smaller 4.2-inch digital display, while all other models get a 12.3-inch cluster. Higher trims also add more upscale equipment, and the XRT Pro trades away some luxury finish for a more rugged look and hardware.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 3.5-liter V6 with 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. FWD is standard, AWD is optional on most trims, and the XRT Pro is AWD-only.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention monitoring, forward attention warning, safe exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors. SEL Premium adds side parking sensors, while Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist. Highway Driving Assist I is standard on all but Calligraphy, which gets Highway Driving Assist II with lane-change assistance.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch center touchscreen is standard, along with onboard navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SEL Premium, XRT Pro, Limited, and Calligraphy add a Surround View Monitor camera system, and Calligraphy also gets a 12-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined, while AWD versions drop by 1 mpg across the board.

Which 2026 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Premium, XRT Pro, Limited, and Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it comes with the smaller 4.2-inch digital display instead of the larger 12.3-inch cluster found on the rest of the lineup. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without some of the nicer tech.
• SEL: This is the value-minded step up if you want the core Palisade experience without jumping too far in price. It keeps the standard V6, the 12.3-inch cluster, and the full-size infotainment setup.
• SEL Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment without pushing all the way to luxury pricing. It also gains side parking sensors and the Surround View Monitor.
• XRT Pro: Choose this if you want the most rugged version. It adds all-terrain tires, more ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, recovery hooks, and off-road display features. It does give up some luxury feel compared with the Calligraphy.
• Limited: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale family SUV with strong equipment and the Bose audio system. It also gets the Surround View Monitor and the factory tow hitch.
• Calligraphy: This is the top luxury choice, with the most premium presentation, the head-up display, integrated dashcams, Bose audio, and Highway Driving Assist II. It also adds evasive steering assist.

If safety tech is a priority, note that the top Calligraphy gets the upgraded Highway Driving Assist II system, while the rest of the lineup uses Highway Driving Assist I.

Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade hadn’t received safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety at press time.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Palisade comes standard with a broad driver-assistance suite that includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention monitoring, forward attention warning, safe exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors. SEL Premium adds side parking sensors, and Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist.

Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist I is standard on all but the top Calligraphy, which gets Highway Driving Assist II with lane-change assistance. One caveat from testing is that the system did not always detect cyclists consistently, so you should still stay actively engaged behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2026 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Hyundai redesigned the Palisade for 2026, improving styling, comfort, and overall polish.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It remains a well-rounded, upscale three-row SUV with strong value if the price is right.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better choice if you want the newest design, the most polished cabin, and the strongest overall package. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 can still make sense when the deal is compelling, especially if you’re comfortable giving up the redesign and some of the latest updates.
