New & Used 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 for Sale nearCornelius, NC

Is the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 a good car?

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 earns an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Hyundai’s overview and our test-drive data both point to a compact crossover that gets the fundamentals right: stylish looks, fast charging capability, good range, and practicality. It also stands out for easy-to-use technology and a thoughtfully executed feel rather than an experimental one.

The main trade-off is cargo space, which trails gasoline crossovers, so you may want to look elsewhere if maximum utility is your top priority. Even so, the overall package remains strong enough to make it a compelling EV choice.

Good and great deals account for 20% of listings, which suggests there’s still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 reliable?

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is presented as a well-sorted EV that avoided the launch issues that have hurt some rivals. Our expert data emphasizes that Hyundai “got it right from the start,” and the model’s strong charging performance, good range, and practical design all support that impression.

The performance notes also point to a quiet, easy power delivery and a charging setup that’s built around an advanced 800-volt architecture. That kind of hardware is a good sign for day-to-day usability, especially if you plan to rely on public charging as well as home charging.

Hyundai’s charging and connected-car features add convenience, and the model’s overall execution suggests fewer long-term headaches than many early EVs. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is still the usual EV concern: making sure the battery and charging system have been treated well over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 99.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has spent a lot of time on DC fast charging. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the car has been used in a way that matches your own driving and charging habits.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model uses cloth upholstery, while other trims get synthetic leather. The cabin is tech-forward but not especially upscale, and the XRT adds a more rugged look with unique exterior treatment.
• Powertrain: The base SE Standard Range uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup with 168 horsepower, while other trims get 220 hp. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup raises output to 320 hp and 446 lb-ft, and the Ioniq 5 N is a separate high-performance model.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitors, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, safe-exit assist, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, rear-occupant alert, and Highway Driving Assist 1. Higher trims or options add features such as a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, brake support for the parking sensors, evasive steering assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2.
• Infotainment: The Ioniq 5 uses twin 12.3-inch screens, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and the MyHyundai app. All but the base trim get a wireless smartphone charger, and Limited adds a head-up display.
• Range & charging: The SE Standard Range has a 63-kWh battery and 245 miles of range. Other rear-wheel-drive models use an 84-kWh battery and reach up to 318 miles of range. Dual-motor versions drop to 290 miles with 19-inch wheels and 268 miles with 20s, while the XRT is rated at 259 miles. DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes with CCS hardware, or about 30 minutes on Tesla Superchargers with the standard NACS adapter. Home charging from 10% to 100% takes seven hours and 20 minutes on an 11-kW Level 2 charger.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you want to confirm battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has been fast-charged versus charged at home, and review any remaining battery warranty coverage. A car that has mostly lived on Level 2 charging and shows normal charging speeds is generally the safer bet.

Which 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is offered in 6 trim levels: SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, Limited, XRT, and N.

Here's the short version:

• SE Standard Range: This is the least expensive way into the IONIQ 5, but it also brings the smaller battery and the shortest range. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live with fewer miles between charges.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the core IONIQ 5 experience while moving to the larger battery and stronger range. It’s the smart pick if you want the model’s main strengths without stretching too far up the price ladder.
• SEL: This trim adds more equipment and sits in the middle of the lineup, making it a good fit if you want a more complete daily driver without jumping to the pricier luxury-oriented trims.
• Limited: This is the most upscale mainstream trim, with added comfort and tech features such as the head-up display and standard Bose audio. It suits you if you want the most polished version of the regular IONIQ 5.
• XRT: This is the adventure-oriented choice, with a raised ride height, all-terrain tires, unique exterior treatment, and terrain modes. It’s the one to choose if you want the most distinctive character and some light off-pavement capability.
• N: This is the performance model, with its own high-output dual-motor setup. Choose it if outright speed matters more than range or value.

Standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, while higher trims add more advanced camera and driver-assistance features.

• 20% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 99.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It remains one of the best EVs around, with fast charging, good range, and thoughtful execution.

Consider the 2025 if:
