New & Used 2026 Honda HR-V for Sale nearCornelius, NC

How much does the 2026 Honda HR-V cost?

Prices have softened 2.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,044 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V a good car?

The 2026 Honda HR-V earns an expert rating of 5.3/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The HR-V is described as simple and uncomplicated, and that straightforward character is one of its main appeals. It is aimed at buyers who value ease of use over flash, with a comfortable driver’s seat, easy-to-use technology, and great safety ratings among its strongest points.

The trade-offs are clear: sluggish performance and poor fuel economy are two of the biggest drawbacks, and the back seat is also called out as uncomfortable. Even with the 2026 refresh, the updates do not address those core weaknesses.

The market still shows 32.6% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V reliable?

The 2026 Honda HR-V is presented as a straightforward, easy-to-live-with SUV, and its simple setup is part of the appeal for long-term ownership. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder and CVT are described as working hard, but the powertrain is also tuned to make the best possible use of the available power in everyday driving.

Honda’s safety and driver-assist package is broad, and the system is described as unintrusive overall. The HR-V also gets a multi-link rear suspension and brake-based torque vectoring, which support its composed road manners.

For maintenance, Honda offers one dealership visit only, which is a modest ownership perk rather than a major cost advantage. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the same weaknesses that show up in testing — weak acceleration, mediocre efficiency, and limited value extras — are likely to remain part of the ownership experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda HR-V?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the specific listing matches the equipment you want, especially because some useful features are trim-dependent. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the condition of the cabin, the infotainment system, and the driver-assist features, since those are central to the HR-V’s appeal.

Pay close attention to how the vehicle presents overall, because the model’s value story depends heavily on condition and equipment rather than standout performance. If you want a cleaner ownership experience, prioritize listings with a strong service history and no signs of prior damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, Sport, and EX-L differ meaningfully in appearance and cabin quality. The LX and Sport have cloth seats, while the EX-L adds genuine leather with perforated surfaces and more upscale interior detailing. The LX has only four speakers, the Sport has six, and the EX-L has eight, so the base trim leaves you with the least premium feel.
• Powertrain: The HR-V uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and a CVT. It is described as underpowered and slow to accelerate, and the available all-wheel drive adds capability but not extra punch. Fuel economy is also called out as weak in real-world driving.
• Safety package: Every HR-V gets Honda Sensing, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is limited to the Sport and EX-L, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to the EX-L.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen is 9 inches, and the system adds wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a wireless smartphone charger. Built-in navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio are not included, and the base LX has the least robust audio setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The HR-V is rated at 28 mpg combined with front-wheel drive or 27 mpg combined with all-wheel drive, and it averaged 24.8 mpg on the test loop.

Which 2026 Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda HR-V is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is also the most stripped-down version, with cloth seats and the least robust audio setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable giving up some convenience and premium touches.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert while keeping the HR-V’s core simplicity. It also gets a better speaker setup than the LX, making it the smart middle ground.
• EX-L: This is the most upscale version, with genuine leather, eight speakers, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. It is the right pick if you want the most comfort and the most complete feature set.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard only on the Sport and EX-L, while the parking sensors are exclusive to the EX-L.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,044 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,372, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $28,619 sits slightly below last year's $29,250.

That price movement suggests the HR-V has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than on broad market appreciation.

Because the model is already down 2.16% versus last year, holding value will likely come down to how well your specific vehicle is maintained and equipped. A cleaner, better-optioned trim should be easier to position later than a bare-bones example.

Is the 2026 Honda HR-V safe?

The 2026 Honda HR-V earns favorable ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It also earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2025 model year, though the 2026 IIHS results were not yet published in the source material.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport and EX-L, while front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to the EX-L.

The system is generally unobtrusive, but the adaptive cruise control showed some inconsistent behavior in testing, including delayed reactions and occasional false responses to adjacent traffic. That means the HR-V has a strong safety foundation, but you should still stay attentive when using its driver-assist features.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.16% compared with last year.
• The 2026 refresh gives you a larger touchscreen, faster response times, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.

The bottom line: If you want the newest HR-V with the updated infotainment setup and you value shopping from a relatively healthy pool of listings, the 2026 is the cleanest choice. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2026’s softer pricing and strong accident-free share make it a reasonable target.
