New & Used 2026 Genesis G80 for Sale nearSt Thomas, VI

Is the 2026 Genesis G80 a good car?

The 2026 Genesis G80 earns an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

It is offered as a midsize luxury sedan with turbocharged four- or six-cylinder power, and it leans into a calm, confident, old-school luxury character rather than a technical or SUV-like one. The styling and cabin presentation are major strengths, with premium materials and impressive technology helping the G80 feel genuinely upscale.

The trade-offs are real: the brakes can feel grabby, the rear seat cushion lacks comfort, and Highway Driving Assist has some quirks. Even so, the G80’s traditional luxury focus makes it appealing if you want comfort, style, and a polished driving experience instead of a sport-sedan edge.

Good and great deals account for 35.0% of listings, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Genesis G80 reliable?

The 2026 Genesis G80 is presented as a polished, confidence-inspiring luxury sedan with a strong warranty and a calm driving character. Its powertrain is described as smooth, and the cabin and chassis tuning are aimed more at comfort and refinement than hard use.

The performance notes point to a smooth eight-speed automatic, standard all-wheel drive, and a suspension that soaks up rough pavement well. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance, which are meaningful ownership perks for a used buyer.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is less about basic durability and more about living with a few luxury-car quirks and the possibility of higher repair complexity than a mainstream sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-spec examples with more equipment to verify. Focus on overall condition, because the G80’s appeal depends heavily on how well the interior, electronics, and driver-assistance systems have been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5T is offered in base, Advanced, and Sport Prestige trims, while the 3.5T comes in Sport Prestige and Prestige Black. The base model misses the 18-speaker, 1,400-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system, so higher trims bring a more complete luxury experience.
• Powertrain: The 2.5T uses a turbocharged four-cylinder, while the 3.5T uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. Both use a smooth eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, and lane-change assist. Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 is also included, and the Sport Prestige test vehicle added a surround-view camera system and blind-spot monitor.
• Infotainment: The G80 uses a 27-inch OLED display for the gauge cluster and infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system supports over-the-air-style connected services through complimentary updates and connected features.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.5T is rated at 18 mpg combined, while the 2.5T is rated at 23 mpg combined.

Which 2026 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Genesis G80 is offered in 5 trim levels: base, Advanced, Sport Prestige, Prestige Black, and Sport Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but it is the least complete luxury experience because it misses the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio system found on the higher trims.
• Advanced: This is the smart step up if you want more equipment without jumping all the way to the pricier performance-oriented or appearance-focused versions.
• Sport Prestige: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it captures the G80’s strongest luxury and tech appeal while adding the richer equipment mix that suits the car’s character.
• Prestige Black: Choose this if you want the most distinctive upscale presentation and are willing to pay for the more exclusive look.
• Sport Prestige: On the 3.5T, this trim is the one to target if you want the stronger V6 and the most complete version of the G80’s traditional luxury formula.

The safety package is a strength across the lineup, and the available driver-assistance tech is one of the G80’s more compelling features.

Is the 2026 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2026 Genesis G80 earns a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The G80’s driver-assistance suite centers on Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, and lane-change assist for single-lane highway driving. It also includes Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, and the test vehicle added a surround-view camera system and blind-spot monitor with camera-based blind-spot views.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. Highway Driving Assist showed some unexpected behavior during testing, including awkward responses in traffic and during lane changes. That means you should test the system carefully on a used example and make sure it behaves the way you expect.

Should I buy a 2026 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It keeps the G80’s old-school luxury character with a sumptuous interior and strong design appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers strong value, premium materials, and a feature-rich midsize luxury-sedan package.

The bottom line: The 2026 is the better pick if you want the G80’s most current mix of style, comfort, and luxury-car character. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it still delivers the core G80 strengths with a value-focused pitch.
