New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale nearChestertown, NY

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

For you, that means the Durango makes the most sense if you want a three-row SUV with strong power, familiar controls, and a distinctive personality. The overview and expert review both emphasize that it is an unusually old design, but one that still delivers the practicality and capability many midsize SUV shoppers want.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel dated, modern safety features are lacking, and fuel economy is poor. Even so, its relatively good pricing helps offset some of those drawbacks.

Good and great deals account for 39.9% of listings, which suggests there is still meaningful market availability for value-focused shoppers.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is presented as a long-running, familiar design with analog controls and a straightforward layout, which can make day-to-day ownership feel simple. The expert review also notes that the Durango’s powertrain and transmission behavior are smooth and unobtrusive, and that visibility is sufficient in all directions.

For maintenance, the cost-effectiveness notes point to relatively accessible pricing for the lineup, including a cheaper V6 entry point and a modestly priced Hemi upgrade. That can help keep ownership costs more manageable up front.

Long-term ownership risk is still a concern for used buyers because the vehicle’s age and dated structure can bring more wear-related uncertainty than newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because the Durango’s age and dated structure make condition more important than mileage alone. Focus on signs of wear in the interior, suspension, and electronics, and make sure the equipment on the specific trim matches what you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, with a no-name six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds more driver-assistance features and a 19-speaker stereo.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and is described as underwhelming for the Durango’s weight. The available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 360 hp and 390 lb-ft, boosts towing capacity to 8,700 pounds, and is the stronger choice if you want the Durango’s core appeal.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, OTA updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is wired. The GT uses a six-speaker stereo, most trims get a nine-speaker Alpine system, and the GT Premium gets a 19-speaker Harman Kardon setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in AWD form, while the Hemi V8 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus AWD Hemi V8, GT Premium AWD Hemi V8, SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, but it is the least compelling choice because the standard V6 is described as weak for the Durango’s size and the stereo is the basic six-speaker setup.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value trim if you want the Durango’s comfort and convenience upgrades without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad.
• GT Plus AWD Hemi V8: Choose this if you want the stronger V8 character and AWD as standard, plus added equipment like high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather.
• GT Premium AWD Hemi V8: This is the most balanced upper trim if you want more safety and luxury content. It adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance choice, with the most aggressive hardware and the most expensive pricing by a wide margin.

Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,918 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 92.7% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard, and the Durango also includes a driver’s knee airbag and a central side airbag between the front seats. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while many other modern driver-assistance features are unavailable.

The main caveat is that the Durango’s dated body structure means it is not expected to perform as well in a crash as newer rivals designed around more recent IIHS testing.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It remains a distinctive three-row SUV with strong power, familiar controls, and relatively good pricing.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a roomy, comfortable, and practical interior with a modern infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of this old-school formula and you value the Durango’s performance-first personality, the 2026 is the straightforward pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 can still make sense because it delivers much of the same character with a strong practical interior.
