New & Used 2026 Dodge Durango for Sale nearAthens, NY

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango a good car?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

For you, that means the Durango makes the most sense if you want a three-row SUV with V8 power and sound, strong capability, and a distinctive personality. The overview also points to a lot of the power, technology, and practicality you expect in a midsize SUV, plus relatively good pricing for the segment.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel dated, modern safety features are lacking, and fuel economy is poor. It also rides on an older design, so it appeals more to buyers who value character and capability than the latest packaging or refinement.

Good and great deals account for 34.6% of listings, which gives you a decent amount of market flexibility.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango reliable?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is presented as an older design that has been sold essentially unchanged since 2010, and that age is part of the reliability conversation for used buyers. The expert data also describes it as a vehicle with familiar controls and a straightforward, analog layout, which can make day-to-day ownership feel simple.

On the performance side, the expert notes that the Durango’s powertrains and transmission are smooth and unobtrusive, and the vehicle’s capability remains a core strength. On the cost side, the Durango’s relatively good pricing helps offset some of the age-related concerns.

For long-term ownership, you should expect more risk from age and complexity than from a newer rival, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because the Durango is an older design with dated materials and a long production run. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear in the cabin, and whether the equipment on the specific trim matches what you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GT is the most stripped-down version, with a no-name six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The GT Plus adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad, while the GT Premium adds more driver-assistance features and a 19-speaker stereo.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 295 horsepower and is described as underwhelming for a vehicle this heavy. The available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 brings 360 hp and much stronger towing capability, while the 6.4-liter V8 and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 push performance much further.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while automatic emergency braking is unavailable on the regular Hellcat.
• Infotainment: Every Durango gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM 360L, OTA updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay; Android Auto is wired. The base GT uses a no-name six-speaker stereo, while most other trims get a nine-speaker Alpine system.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in AWD form, while the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 drops to 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Which 2026 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2026 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, GT Plus AWD Hemi V8, GT Premium AWD Hemi V8, and SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core personality at the lowest price. It comes with the standard V6, rear-wheel drive, and the basic infotainment and audio setup, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup.
• GT Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather, heated first- and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a wireless charging pad. If you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• GT Plus AWD Hemi V8: Choose this if you want the stronger V8 character and all-wheel drive along with the GT Plus equipment. It adds high-beam assist, a sunroof, and Nappa leather, so it suits you if performance and comfort both matter.
• GT Premium AWD Hemi V8: This is the most well-rounded mainstream trim if you want more safety and luxury content. It adds a leather-wrapped instrument panel, a suede headliner, more driver-assistance features, and a 19-speaker stereo.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance choice, with the most aggressive hardware and the most expensive price tag. It suits you only if you want the Durango’s full performance personality and are willing to accept the trade-offs that come with it.

Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak.

Is the 2026 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2026 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitors and front/rear parking sensors are standard, and the Durango also includes a driver’s knee airbag and a central side airbag between the front seats. Forward automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning are standard only on the GT Premium and optional on the Hellcat Jailbreak, while many other modern driver-assistance features are unavailable.

The expert data also flags the Durango’s dated body structure as a shortcoming, and that age shows up in its low safety score.

Should I buy a 2026 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?
