Is the 2026 BMW M4 a good car?

The 2026 BMW M4 is a high-performance coupe or convertible that blends serious speed with everyday usability. It pairs a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 473 horsepower in standard form, while Competition models raise output to 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

It also brings a well-equipped cabin with heated M Sport seats, leather trim, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch driver display, and a 10.25-inch center display. BMW makes Adaptive M Suspension standard, which helps the car feel more adjustable and more capable across different driving situations.

For you, the appeal is straightforward: this is a sharp, premium performance car that still works as a daily driver. The styling is bold and high-spec versions can get expensive, but the M4 remains compelling if you want strong dynamics, modern tech, and a premium feel. 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a moderate amount of market flexibility.

Is the 2026 BMW M4 reliable?

The 2026 BMW M4 is presented as a well-equipped, broadly usable performance car with a premium interior and standard Adaptive M Suspension. Its appeal comes from combining serious performance with everyday usability, rather than from any single extreme trait.

That makes it a car you can realistically use often, but long-term ownership risk for used buyers still depends heavily on maintenance history, mileage, and how hard the car was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW M4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s service records match its mileage and use. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, signs of track use, and the condition of the suspension, brakes, tires, and interior controls.

Because this is a high-performance car, condition matters more than just age. A clean example with consistent maintenance is the safer buy than a cheaper car with unclear history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 BMW M4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some room to shop carefully without expecting a flood of bargain inventory.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 92.8% of listings are accident-free.

Should I buy a 2026 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a broad range of configurations with strong everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version in this comparison, the 2026 is the better primary path because it combines strong performance, modern equipment, and solid clean-inventory availability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it still delivers the M4’s core strengths while potentially giving you more room to shop on price.
