Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that blends safety, efficiency, and a clean Scandinavian design. It is a five-passenger SUV with a luxury-oriented cabin and a straightforward, modern look that some buyers will see as timeless rather than flashy.

For 2025, the XC60 continues with fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights, and a nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while available features such as Nappa leather, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, air suspension, and Pilot Assist add to its upscale feel.

36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful pool of value-oriented options to compare.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

Volvo’s long-running emphasis on safety is a major part of the XC60’s appeal, and the model has built a reputation around standard safety tech and strong safety ratings. It is also a five-passenger SUV with a luxury-oriented cabin and a straightforward, modern look that some buyers will see as timeless rather than flashy.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the XC60’s core identity and more about making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and still feels tight, smooth, and free of deferred wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s service records before you commit. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment, since condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge. Pay close attention to how the drivetrain, brakes, and cabin electronics feel in real use, because those are the areas where a used luxury SUV can reveal hidden wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,464 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,060, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $42,708 sits slightly below last year's $43,342.

That tells you the XC60 has softened modestly, which can help you buy with a little more confidence today. For a future seller, the current pricing suggests the model still holds value reasonably well, but not so strongly that you should expect a major premium just because it wears a Volvo badge. If you keep mileage, condition, and maintenance records in good shape, you should be in a better position when it’s time to resell.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.46% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a larger touchscreen and updated infotainment.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary pick if you want a strong mix of value, safety-focused appeal, and broad inventory to shop from. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2025 also makes sense because the market has softened and there are enough good deals to justify waiting for the right listing rather than stretching for a newer year.
