You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and mileage. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Buyers in this segment tend to reward strong condition and clear history.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds up to 44 miles of electric-only driving range.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary path if you want a used Prius Plug-In Hybrid with a softer price trend and a healthy pool of listings to compare. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep the 2025 in play and shop the lower end of the range first; if you want the newer-year update and can stretch, the 2026 is the alternative to watch.
