Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander stands out as a practical, comfort-focused midsize SUV rather than a flashy one. Toyota’s formula emphasizes a smooth ride, quiet refinement, and everyday usability, and the Highlander is built to be easy to live with.

It also brings useful modern equipment such as an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Toyota Safety Sense. Cargo space is a major strength too, with up to 84.3 cubic feet available when the seats are folded, and the hybrid can deliver 35 mpg combined for shoppers who want better fuel economy.

If you want a dependable family vehicle that prioritizes comfort, versatility, and efficiency over driving excitement, the Highlander fits that brief well. 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful share of the market to target.

Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander has a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and economy. Toyota’s long-running approach here is centered on being a dependable, easy-to-own family SUV, and that reputation is a major part of its appeal.

The model’s comfort-focused setup and proven ownership profile make it especially attractive if you want a vehicle that should be straightforward to live with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about excitement and more about making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by family-duty use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims about ownership and maintenance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has spent a lot of time in family service. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, tire and brake life, and whether the cabin electronics and safety features work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,740 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,494, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $42,330 sits slightly below last year's $46,462.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing now than a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate upside if you buy at the current average, but it also means you may be entering at a more reasonable level than buyers did last year. If the Highlander holds its usual reputation for dependability, well-kept examples should still remain appealing when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.89% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary choice if you want a comfort-first, well-equipped Highlander with strong market availability and a solid mix of clean listings and deal opportunities. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing for a lower entry cost, but the 2025 gives you a strong balance of inventory, condition, and pricing momentum.
