Is the 2025 Toyota Crown a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Crown stands out because it brings Toyota’s premium-sedan ambitions back to the U.S. in a package that blends full-size sedan proportions with a taller ride height and the visibility and easy entry and exit of a crossover. It is also unusual in the way it is positioned: as a direct replacement for the Avalon, with a mainstream Toyota platform and a quiet, comfortable character aimed at buyers who want a luxury-like daily driver without paying for a luxury badge. Every Crown is a hybrid and every Crown comes standard with all-wheel drive, which gives it a clear identity in a shrinking sedan segment.

For 2025, the Crown’s appeal is strongest in how well equipped it is. All trims get eight-way power front seats, heated front and rear seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The 2025 model year also brought leather upholstery and more soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, while the Nightshade trim joined the lineup for 2025. Buyers can choose between the efficient standard hybrid setup and the more powerful HybridMAX system, and the Platinum trim adds performance-focused hardware along with a surround-view camera system. The Crown’s cabin is also notably quiet at highway speeds, which reinforces its comfort-first mission.

There are a few tradeoffs. The Crown’s cons include pedestrian performance, limited cargo space, and questionable interior materials, so it is not the most practical or the most engaging choice in its class. Still, its combination of hybrid efficiency, standard all-wheel drive, strong equipment levels, and a distinctive crossover-sedan shape makes the 2025 Toyota Crown appealing to shoppers who want something different from the usual sedan or SUV.

34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Crown?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s service records line up with its mileage and ownership pattern. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and hybrid-related systems, since the Crown’s value proposition depends heavily on comfort, equipment, and smooth operation. Focus on overall condition and how well the car has been maintained, because that matters more here than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Crown?

What is the 2025 Toyota Crown's resale value?

The current average of $38,875 sits slightly below last year's $42,634.

That price movement suggests the Crown has softened enough to give you a better entry point than a year ago. If you buy well now, you may reduce the risk of overpaying relative to recent market levels. For a future seller, the key will be how well the car holds up in condition and mileage, since a distinctive model like this tends to reward clean examples more than average ones.
