Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearOld Saybrook, CT

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 8.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,440 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota 4Runner earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

You get a redesigned SUV that brings more capability, power, comfort, and technology than before, while staying true to the 4Runner’s rugged identity. It also adds a more efficient hybrid option and feels more composed on pavement, so it works better for everyday driving than the old version.

The trade-offs are clear: the rear seat is limited, and the standard powertrain still has to work hard when you push it. If you want a stylish, adventure-ready SUV that still feels usable on the road, this year’s 4Runner fits that brief well.

36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 4Runner is described as a vehicle that keeps the formula shoppers have liked for years while updating the powertrain lineup with more contemporary four-cylinder engines. It also leans into Toyota’s reputation for reliability, and the expert notes emphasize that it remains an accomplished off-roader with fewer compromises than before.

The standard powertrain is presented as strong enough for the job, and the hybrid adds more usable low-speed power for tougher terrain. Toyota also includes a maintenance perk on the hybrid side with the first scheduled maintenance visit on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the most capable versions may have seen harder use, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for trail driving or towing. Focus on wear items, interior condition, and signs of hard use, since this model is built to handle rougher duty than a typical SUV.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from more road-focused versions to serious off-road models, and the base setup is less equipped than higher trims. You should pay close attention to how much capability and convenience equipment you want before you choose.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 278 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic. The hybrid adds much stronger low-speed power and is the better pick if you want more punch for trail use.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on supporting trims, while a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered, along with a wireless charging pad and a digital instrument panel on hybrid variants.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is estimated at 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. The hybrid is estimated at 23/24/23.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 9 trim levels: SR5, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and five additional trims referenced in the expert content.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the 4Runner’s core capability and design without paying for extra off-road hardware. It’s the trim to start with if you care most about value and plan to add only the features you truly need.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the best-value choice if you want a stronger off-road focus without jumping all the way to the top adventure models. The expert notes say even the mid-range TRD Off-Road versions are impressively capable, which makes this the sweet spot for many buyers.
• TRD Pro: Choose this if you want one of the most capable adventure-oriented versions in the lineup. It’s aimed at buyers who want maximum trail ability while still keeping the 4Runner civilized enough for daily use.
• Trailhunter: This is the other top adventure model, and it’s built for buyers who want a highly capable overland-style setup. The snorkel can add wind noise, so it suits you best if trail hardware matters more than quiet highway cruising.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts remains optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,440 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,662, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $48,769 sits slightly below last year's $53,250.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. If you plan to sell later, the softer entry price may limit upside in the short term, but it also means you are starting from a more realistic market level.

The 4Runner’s strong reputation and high owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All 4Runner models come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced safety features that include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. It also includes Proactive Driving Assist, which automatically slows the vehicle when approaching curves in the road, though some drivers may find it intrusive. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional.

Crash test results are not yet available for this model year, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and your own inspection of the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a redesigned cabin, more capability, and a more efficient hybrid option.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $46,820, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,769 average.
• It remains rugged and durable.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It emphasizes adventure with an available hybrid and clearer family-hauling versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign with better refinement, stronger tech, and improved efficiency, the 2025 is the better path. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 can still make sense as a lower-cost alternative.
