Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearIthaca, NY

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 8.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,243 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2025 4Runner is aimed at you if you want a rugged SUV that still feels more composed on pavement than before. Its strengths include stylish design, excellent off-road abilities, and relatively fuel-efficient character, while the new hybrid option adds more efficiency and the updated chassis improves day-to-day refinement.

The main trade-off is limited rear-seat space, so you should pay close attention to passenger room if you regularly carry adults in back. The standard four-cylinder is strong, but the hybrid is the preferred choice if you want the extra low-speed punch and stronger usable power.

Only 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 4Runner is built around Toyota’s latest truck-based formula, and the expert review emphasizes that it keeps the rugged character shoppers expect while adding more capability, power, comfort, and technology. The standard turbocharged four-cylinder is described as not weak, and the hybrid adds stronger usable power at lower speeds, which is especially helpful when you’re off-roading or carrying a load.

The review also notes that the new 4Runner is quieter inside and more composed on pavement than the previous generation, which should help reduce fatigue over long drives. If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck has been cared for properly, especially if it has seen hard trail use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used off-road or equipped with trail-focused hardware. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, suspension, tires, and underbody, since those areas can reveal how hard the vehicle has been used.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans nine distinct trims, with the base SR5 starting the range and the Trailhunter and TRD Pro sitting at the top. The cabin is purposeful and more refined than some rivals, but there is still a lot of hard plastic, so you should check whether the trim you’re considering adds the comfort and convenience features you want.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 317 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, or the i-Force Max Hybrid with 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid is the stronger choice for low-speed power and off-road use, while the standard engine is still a solid option if you want to keep costs down.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional, so check whether the truck you’re considering has it.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on supporting trims, while a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered, along with wireless charging, and a digital instrument panel is included on all Hybrid variants and available on other models.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is estimated at 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. The hybrid is estimated at 23/24/23, which makes it the better pick if efficiency matters to you.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 9 trim levels: SR5, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and the other trims described in the expert review.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the 4Runner’s core ruggedness at the lowest starting price. It gets the standard turbocharged four-cylinder and gives you the basic formula without pushing you into pricier off-road or luxury-oriented equipment.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the best-value trim if you want a more capable trail setup without jumping all the way to the top of the range. The review says even the mid-range TRD Off-Road models are impressively capable and can handle challenging obstacles without needing lower transfer-case gearing.
• TRD Pro: Choose this if you want one of the most capable adventure-focused versions in the lineup. It sits among the top trims and is described as one of the most impressive adventure vehicles in the stable.
• Trailhunter: This is the other top-tier adventure model, and it is also described as one of the most impressive adventure vehicles in the lineup. The snorkel can add wind noise on road trips, so it suits you best if trail capability matters more than quiet cruising.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts remains optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough pricing softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,735, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $49,450 sits slightly below last year's $53,818.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness may limit short-term upside, but it also means you may not be paying peak-market pricing today.

The 4Runner’s strong reputation, updated powertrain lineup, and high owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner does not yet have crash test results from either major testing organization.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All 4Runner models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. Proactive Driving Assist is also included, though the review notes that it can feel intrusive for some drivers, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts is optional.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings more capability, power, comfort, and technology, plus a more efficient hybrid option.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,015, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $49,450 average.
• It remains an accomplished off-road-capable SUV with strong reliability and durability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds better passenger capacity and better fuel economy than the Wrangler and Bronco.

The bottom line: If you want the newest 4Runner formula with better refinement, stronger powertrain choices, and improved efficiency, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2024 can still make sense, especially if you value the lower entry price more than the redesign. If you want to compare against a future model-year direction, the 2026 keeps the adventure-first mission but leans even harder into passenger-carrying practicality.
