How much does the 2025 Subaru Ascent cost?

Is the 2025 Subaru Ascent a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Ascent stands out as a family-focused midsize three-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive, seven- or eight-passenger seating, and a spacious interior. It also brings practical family-friendly touches like rear doors that open to 75 degrees, 19 standard cup holders, three-zone automatic climate control, and available USB charging ports in the third row.

It adds useful capability too, with up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity, up to 26 mpg on the highway, and as much as 72.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the seatbacks folded. The tradeoffs are that fuel economy is not a standout and the third row is described as cramped.

With 37.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Subaru Ascent reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Ascent carries a strong safety reputation and has been an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ every year it has been in production. It also keeps the formula simple and family-oriented with standard all-wheel drive and a practical interior layout.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about whether the vehicle’s family-duty wear and mileage match its asking price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Ascent?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing’s condition matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the Ascent for family hauling, towing, or frequent road trips. Focus on wear items, interior condition, and how well the third row and cargo area have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Ascent?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers: there is inventory to choose from, but the best-priced examples still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,391 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Ascent's resale value?

The current average of $36,661 sits slightly below last year's $41,394.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well your vehicle stands out against the current inventory. If you keep the Ascent clean and well-documented, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,216, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $36,661 average.
• It offers a practical, value-focused package with standard all-wheel drive and strong safety credentials.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model year and are comfortable paying more, the 2025 is the better primary path. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter secondary option because it delivers much of the same core Subaru appeal for less.
