Used 2025 RAM 2500 for Sale nearSalem, OR

How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,410 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with more luxury and refinement than many trucks in this class. The truck’s strengths are straightforward: a powerful engine, impressive towing capabilities, and excellent off-road ability.

The trade-offs are just as clear, though, since advanced safety features are not standard and the truck gets expensive fast. That makes it especially appealing if you need a truck for demanding jobs and want a more upscale cabin experience, but less ideal if you’re trying to keep costs down.

The market shows 35.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is framed as a durable heavy-duty truck built for demanding work, and the expert review emphasizes that it remains invaluable to buyers who need immense durability. Its powertrain setup also supports that reputation, with the revised diesel engine delivering 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque in High Output form.

The truck’s ride and chassis tuning also point to a well-developed platform, with a five-link rear suspension and coil springs helping it ride more composedly than many rivals over rough surfaces. On the cost side, Ram notes that the Cummins diesel is highly desirable among towing and hauling buyers, and the truck’s pricing is competitive with chief rivals.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that heavy-duty capability and premium equipment can make repairs and upkeep more expensive if the truck has been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items that can reveal hard use, and pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the truck has the features you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry Tradesman uses cheap-looking black plastic up front, while the Big Horn adds a more polished look. The Power Wagon and Rebel get unique black-front styling, and the Laramie brings leather seating surfaces, a larger touchscreen, and power deployable side steps. Limited Longhorn and Limited models move further into luxury with more upscale interior materials and finishes.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while the available turbocharged 6.7-liter inline-six diesel is the standout for towing with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft. The diesel’s High Output tune is the biggest single upgrade for 2025.
• Safety package: An optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection on Tradesman and Big Horn trucks. Additional packages add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, while park assist sensors are standard on all but the base Tradesman.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch unit is standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie. The top trims get an available 14.4-inch screen, and Ram also offers a passenger display plus a digital cluster starting at Laramie.
• Fuel efficiency: No MPG or MPGe figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. It’s the trim where the available Safety Group matters most because advanced safety tech is not standard.
• Big Horn: This is the step-up choice if you want a more polished look than the Tradesman without jumping straight into luxury pricing. It’s a sensible middle ground for buyers who want a better-equipped truck without overcommitting.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road specialist, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It’s the best fit if trail capability matters more than maximum towing flexibility.
• Rebel: This is the better pick if you want off-road ability but also need to tow regularly. The content positions it as the off-road choice for buyers who still need serious work capability.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it’s where the luxury and technology upgrades really start to show up, including leather seating, a larger touchscreen, and a digital cluster.
• Limited Longhorn: Choose this if you want the cowboy-themed luxury treatment, with a distinctive two-tone brown interior and filigree accents.
• Limited: This is the top luxury choice, with open-pore wood and the most upscale cabin presentation in the lineup.

The Safety Group is the key trim-level safety note to keep in mind, since it adds important driver-assistance features that are not standard on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,410 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,673, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,205 sits slightly below last year's $65,322.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck was equipped and maintained.

Because this is a heavy-duty truck with strong capability and broad appeal, well-kept examples should continue to attract buyers who need serious towing and hauling strength. Trucks with desirable equipment and cleaner histories should be easier to move later than stripped or heavily used examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 2500 earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a comprehensive package of modern safety technologies, but they are not standard across the board. An optional Safety Group can be added to Tradesman and Big Horn trucks and includes adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection; those features are standard on higher trim levels.

Additional packages add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist. Park assist sensors are also included on all but the base Tradesman trim level, and camera packages can add a surround-view camera system and Cargo View Camera.

The main safety caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to verify exactly which driver-assistance equipment is installed on any used truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a heavily revised diesel engine with High Output output and a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy updates and an intriguing new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory depth, and the latest major powertrain update, the 2025 is the better primary target. If you’re price-sensitive and find a cleaner or better-equipped alternative in the next model year, it’s worth comparing closely before you buy.
