Used 2025 RAM 2500 for Sale nearCedar Knolls, NJ

How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,492 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with a surprising amount of luxury and refinement. The truck is described as a meaningful upgrade to one of America’s most capable trucks, and it continues to appeal if you want something that can handle demanding jobs while still feeling more polished than many rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and the truck can get expensive fast. Even so, its powerful engine, impressive towing capabilities, and excellent off-road ability make it especially compelling if you need a serious heavy-duty truck.

Good and great deals account for 35.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is framed as an immensely durable heavy-duty truck, which matters if you depend on it for hauling and other hard use. Its revised diesel powertrain and composed suspension setup also support the sense that this is built for sustained work rather than short-term novelty.

The performance side reinforces that impression: the standard V8 is capable, and the available Cummins diesel brings 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. Ram also says the diesel is now standard in High Output spec, which adds to the truck’s long-haul appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is cost: a truck this capable can be expensive to buy and keep, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on wear items that can reveal hard use, and pay close attention to how the truck’s equipment matches the way you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry Tradesman comes standard in cheap-looking black plastic, while the Laramie is where the luxury bits really start to appear with leather seating surfaces and large, vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment systems. The Power Wagon and Rebel add a premium blacked-out front treatment and unique grille design, while the Limited Longhorn and Limited move further into upscale territory with more elaborate interior materials.
• Powertrain: The standard powertrain is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available turbocharged 6.7-liter inline-six diesel is the big upgrade, and in High Output form it delivers 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: An optional Safety Group for Tradesman and Big Horn adds adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection. Those features are standard on higher trim levels, and additional packages can add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist.
• Infotainment: The lowest trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch unit is standard on the Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie. An optional 14.4-inch screen is available on upper trims, and Ram also offers a 12.3-inch digital cluster starting at the Laramie level.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. Ram says a popular work-truck setup is a Tradesman Crew Cab with the shorter bed and 4WD, plus the Level 2 Equipment Group, Safety Group, and Towing Technology Group.
• Big Horn: This trim is the step up if you want a more polished look and more available equipment without jumping straight to luxury pricing. It can also be paired with the Safety Group, which adds the active safety tech you’ll probably want.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road specialist, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It’s the best fit if trail ability matters more than maximum towing flexibility.
• Rebel: This is the better choice if you want off-road capability but still need to tow heavy loads regularly. It keeps the rugged character while aiming at a broader mix of work and recreation.
• Laramie: This is the best-value luxury step if you want the cabin upgrades to start showing up in a meaningful way. It adds leather, a larger standard touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster, making it a strong middle ground.
• Limited Longhorn: Choose this if you want the more expressive, cowboy-themed upscale interior with two-tone brown accents and a premium feel.
• Limited: This is the top luxury pick, with open-pore wood and the most understated premium presentation. It’s the trim to buy if you want the most upscale version of the truck.

Park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,492 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,693, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,390 sits slightly below last year's $65,303.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right point. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

Demand should remain supported by the truck’s capability and broad appeal to heavy-duty buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 2500 earns a four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a comprehensive package of modern safety technologies, but they are not standard across the board. An optional Safety Group can be added to Tradesman and Big Horn trucks and includes adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection; those features are standard on higher trim levels.

Additional packages add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist. Park assist sensors are also included on all but the base Tradesman trim level, and Ram offers camera packages including a surround-view camera system and a Cargo View Camera.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a heavily revised diesel with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy updates and a new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better choice if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory depth, and proven capability. If you’re mainly chasing the newest updates and don’t mind waiting for a different mix of trims, the 2026 is worth a look; otherwise, the 2025 looks like the smarter buy for price-sensitive shoppers who still need serious heavy-duty strength.
