Used 2025 RAM 2500 for Sale near New Jersey

How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,531 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of trucks to compare.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with a surprising amount of luxury and refinement. It is especially appealing if you want a truck that can handle demanding jobs while still feeling more polished than many rivals in the segment.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and the truck can get expensive fast. Even so, its powerful engine, impressive towing capabilities, and broad usefulness make it distinctive for buyers who need a serious heavy-duty truck.

36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is described as immensely durable, which matters if you depend on a heavy-duty pickup for hauling and other hard use. Its heavy-duty focus and strong powertrain lineup support that reputation, and the truck’s composed ride helps it feel less punishing than many rivals when you use it regularly.

Ram also says the diesel engine is heavily revised for 2025, with High Output spec now standard in the 2500, which should help reinforce confidence in the truck’s core mechanical setup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is cost: a truck built for serious work can be expensive to keep if you need higher-spec equipment or diesel power.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, because heavy-duty trucks can hide wear in the suspension, bed, hitch area, and interior even when they look clean at first glance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry Tradesman comes with a cheaper-looking black plastic face, while the Laramie is where the luxury bits really start to appear with leather seating surfaces and large vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment systems. The Power Wagon and Rebel add a premium blacked-out front-end treatment and unique grille designs, and the Limited Longhorn and Limited move further into upscale territory with more distinctive interiors.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.4-liter Hemi V8 makes 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while the revised turbocharged 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six is offered in High Output spec with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the big upgrade for 2025, and the truck’s five-link rear suspension and coil springs help it ride more composedly than many heavy-duty rivals.
• Safety package: The optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection. Additional packages can add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, and those features are standard on higher trim levels. Park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman trim level.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch touchscreen comes standard on the two lowest trims, while a 12-inch screen is standard on the Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie. An optional 14.4-inch unit is available on upper trims, and the system can also be paired with a 12.3-inch digital cluster starting at Laramie.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, but you should expect the most basic appearance and the fewest standard comfort and safety features. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need.
• Big Horn: This trim is the step up from Tradesman and is a better fit if you want a more balanced daily-use truck without jumping into luxury pricing. It also benefits from the available safety and tech packages that help close the gap to higher trims.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road specialist, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It is the right pick if trail capability matters more than towing-focused versatility.
• Rebel: This is the better choice for off-roaders who also need to tow heavy loads regularly. It keeps the rugged character but is more versatile than the Power Wagon for mixed-duty use.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the luxury and tech upgrades that make the truck feel much more premium. You get leather seating surfaces, a larger touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster, which makes it the sweet spot if you want comfort without going all the way to the top.
• Limited Longhorn: Choose this if you want the most distinctive cowboy-themed luxury treatment, with a two-tone brown interior and filigree accents. It is for buyers who want their heavy-duty truck to feel especially upscale and unique.
• Limited: This is the most understated luxury choice, with open-pore wood and supple leather upholstery. It suits you if you want maximum refinement and are willing to pay for it.

The Safety Group is optional on Tradesman and Big Horn, while higher trims get those active safety features standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,531 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,694, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,374 sits slightly below last year's $64,935.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to move the truck. The current range still shows healthy demand for well-kept examples, especially given the model’s capability and premium appeal.

If you buy carefully and keep the truck in strong condition, you should have a better shot at preserving value than you would with a less desirable heavy-duty pickup. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 2500 earns a four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a comprehensive package of modern safety technologies, but they are not standard across the board. An optional Safety Group can be added to Tradesman and Big Horn trucks and includes adaptive steering, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross path detection; those features are standard on higher trim levels. Additional packages add forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist, and park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman trim level.

You can also add surround-view and Cargo View camera systems through packages, along with multiple auxiliary camera-prep setups. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to pay attention to trim and package content when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a heavily revised High Output diesel with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy updates and a new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better choice if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and the major diesel upgrade. If you are price-sensitive and mainly want a capable heavy-duty Ram, the 2025’s softened market makes it the smarter buy; if you want the newest updates and trim additions, look to the 2026.
