The electric pickup truck market has gone from zero to full blast in what seems like no time. The [__Ford F-150 Lightning__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2022-Ford-F-150-Lightning-c31444) joined the [__Rivian R1T__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2022-Rivian-R1T-c31453) last year, and more are on the way, including the 2025 Ram 1500 REV. Though it will likely arrive after models from Chevy and GMC, the Ram promises a futuristic take on the full-size truck that the automaker hopes will make it a more compelling offering. ## What’s New for the 2025 Ram 1500 REV The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is an all-new model which rides on Stellantis's STLA body-on-frame electric architecture. It offers two powertrain choices, massive towing capability, fast charging, incredible range, and a futuristic interior. ## Design Looking at the Ram 1500 REV, it’s easy to see the connection with the automaker’s gas-powered trucks, but there are plenty of new design touches to discuss. The truck features “tuning fork” LED running lights and an illuminated RAM badge. Wheels come in 20- and 22-inch sizes, and the REV’s front fascia is body-colored to set it apart from other Ram pickups. ## Powertrain Ram will offer two powertrain configurations for the 2025 Ram 1500 REV. The standard-range variant comes with a 168-kWh battery and 350 miles of range per charge, while the available powertrain gets a 229-kWh battery and a range of 500 miles. Ram said a longer-range XR model will come down the road, offering a “class-shattering range.” The truck’s innovative charging setup enables vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid bi-directional charging, which lets the Ram charge other electric vehicles (EVs) or provide power to a home or camp. Powertrain output reaches 654 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque, enabling a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.4 seconds. Ram said the truck offers 24 inches of water fording depth, 14,000 pounds of towing, and 2,700 pounds of payload capacity. ## Interior Ram didn’t hand out many interior details in its announcement for the truck, but images show the top Tungsten trim’s cabin, which features diamond-stitched leather, contrast stitching on the dash, and a plush five-seat configuration. The truck comes in a range of trims, however, including the work-ready Tradesman, so expect some models to get much less deluxe interior finishes. ## Technology Where the current Ram trucks top out with 12 inches of screen, the Ram 1500 REV starts with a 12-inch display and can step up to a 14.5-inch touchscreen. The system runs on Uconnect 5, one of the easiest-to-use and most intuitive interfaces around. A 10.25-inch passenger display is available, bringing maps, entertainment, and other features to the front-seat occupant. ## Safety Ram will offer an autonomous driving-assistance feature that uses radars, cameras, and other sensors to position the truck in its lane and around other traffic. Even so, it still requires the driver to be alert and to have their hands on the wheel at all times. There’s also a new available automatic marking feature. ## Pricing Ram hasn’t released pricing for the 1500 REV, and without another electric truck in its lineup as a benchmark, guessing a price is difficult. Looking at the Ford F-150 Lightning as a starting point, we suppose we might see pricing that ranges from the mid-to-high-$50,000 mark to more than $100,000 for the top Tungsten trim.
