Is the 2025 Porsche Cayenne a good car?

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne earns an 8/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It is aimed at you if you want a high-end midsize SUV that still feels engaging to drive, and the base model is described as delivering an agile driving experience. The cabin also stands out for premium interior materials and a well-thought-out layout, while standard all-wheel drive adds to its appeal.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and options can quickly increase the price. That means the Cayenne can feel especially rewarding if you value driving enjoyment and are willing to pay for it, but less compelling if you want a more fully equipped SUV at the outset.

With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Porsche Cayenne reliable?

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne is presented as a sturdy, well-built luxury SUV with a strong performance focus, and the overview also frames it as a practical midsize SUV with a long-running sporty character.

Its performance content emphasizes that the Cayenne is built to hustle over back roads, with all-wheel drive, an eight-speed transmission, and a lineup that ranges from the base V6 to much stronger V8 and plug-in hybrid options. The same material also notes that the base model provides plenty of thrills and that the Cayenne’s driving character remains a major part of its appeal.

For ownership, the cost-effectiveness content points to a four-year or 50,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and maintenance coverage for the first year or 10,000 miles. That helps early ownership, but used buyers should still plan for higher long-term running costs and be prepared for expensive repairs and options-driven upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Porsche Cayenne?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing includes expensive options or performance-oriented equipment. Focus on overall condition, service records, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches what you expect for the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the base Cayenne to the Cayenne Turbo GT, and the GTS trim gets unique exterior details such as high-gloss black trim, bronze exhaust tips, tinted headlights, and 21-inch anthracite gray wheels. The base model may have smaller wheels and satin black trim instead, so check whether the features you want are actually present.
• Powertrain: The base 3.0-liter V6 makes 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, while higher trims move up to V8 power or plug-in hybrid output. The performance content also notes that the Cayenne can be equipped with an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes parking sensors, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring, while adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning cost extra. Porsche’s InnoDrive system is also mentioned as an advanced adaptive cruise control setup.
• Infotainment: The cabin includes a curved 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10.9-inch passenger screen is optional, and the system also includes Spotify, Apple Music, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: Porsche does not provide fuel economy numbers for this model year in the source material.

Which 2025 Porsche Cayenne trim should I buy?

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne is offered in 6 trim levels: base Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne GTS, Cayenne Turbo GT, Cayenne Coupe, and Cayenne GTS coupe.

Here's the short version:

• base Cayenne: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Cayenne’s core appeal without pushing the price too far. It still delivers the agile driving character, standard all-wheel drive, and much of the same performance flavor that defines the lineup.
• Cayenne S: Step up here if you want a stronger performance cushion and a more powerful engine without jumping all the way to the most expensive models. It suits you if you want more speed while keeping the Cayenne’s everyday usability.
• Cayenne GTS: This is the enthusiast pick if you want the sharpest balance of sporty handling and daily comfort. The content highlights its unique steering hardware, lower ride height, and performance-focused chassis tuning, making it the standout choice for drivers who care most about road feel.
• Cayenne Turbo GT: Choose this if maximum performance is your priority and you want the most extreme version in the lineup. It is the top-end performance model, but it also comes with the steepest price and the most aggressive setup.
• Cayenne Coupe: Pick this if you want the Cayenne’s performance and luxury with a sportier body style and the available lightweight package. It is the style-forward choice in the lineup.
• Cayenne GTS coupe: This is the most compelling choice if you want the GTS formula in coupe form, combining the sharper performance character with the coupe body style.

Some models can be equipped with an Off-Road package that adds underbody protection, a recovery point, and a digital compass in the infotainment system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Porsche Cayenne?

• Inventory: There are 1,206 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.60% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $100,264, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Porsche Cayenne's resale value?

The current average of $102,844 sits slightly above last year's $100,237.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The current pricing also indicates that well-kept examples can hold attention, especially when they are priced near the lower end of the range.

For a future seller, the main takeaway is that condition and equipment matter a lot. If your Cayenne is clean, well maintained, and priced competitively, you should be in a stronger position than if you wait too long or overprice it.

Is the 2025 Porsche Cayenne safe?

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne does not have crash-test ratings cited in the source material.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes parking sensors, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning are not standard, and Porsche’s InnoDrive system is described as an advanced adaptive cruise control setup.

The main caveat for used buyers is that the Cayenne asks you to pay extra for several driver-assistance features that many rivals may include more broadly.

Should I buy a 2025 Porsche Cayenne or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 97.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.60% year-over-year.
• The expert summary says even the base model delivers an agile driving experience, while higher trims reward you with a spirited drive.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the Cayenne’s strongest mix of driving enjoyment, updated equipment, and broad market availability. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the features you want at a lower asking price.
