Used 2025 MINI Cooper for Sale nearSan Jose, CA

How much does the 2025 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,320 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2025 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The redesign brings a little more size inside and out, while still keeping the lightweight, playful character that helps the car feel lively and fun to drive. It also adds quirky interior design and all-new infotainment tech, so you get a distinctive cabin rather than a generic small-car layout.

The trade-offs are real, though: the infotainment is a weak point, and you do not get independent gear shifting unless you pay extra. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

For shoppers who want a stylish hatchback with personality and everyday usefulness, this is a strong fit. 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 MINI Cooper is described as redesigned for the year, but it still keeps the lightweight, fun-to-drive formula that has long defined the nameplate. Its turbocharged four-cylinder setup and low curb weight support that lively character, and the car is also said to return solid overall fuel economy.

The expert review also notes that the dual-clutch transmission shifts smoothly and that the car feels well-damped and planted on the highway. On the cost side, the model’s solid fuel economy helps keep day-to-day ownership more manageable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure any recall-related work has been completed and that the car’s electronics and software behave as expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that any recall work has been completed before you buy. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to check the infotainment system, driver-assistance behavior, and overall cabin condition. Focus on how the car drives, how the controls respond, and whether the interior electronics behave consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is distinctive, with a 9.4-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof on four-door models, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The base setup is still well equipped, but some convenience and appearance items remain optional, so you should compare the equipment carefully if you want the best value.
• Powertrain: The car uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base model makes 161 horsepower, while the Cooper S makes 201 horsepower and feels especially energetic thanks to the car’s low weight.
• Safety package: Safe Exit function, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning are standard. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-keep assist are available as part of the Active Driving Assistant package for an additional $600.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a round 9.4-inch touchscreen with Mini Operating System 9. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control are standard, and there are several USB-C outlets throughout the cabin.
• Fuel efficiency: The model is EPA-rated at 28 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

Which 2025 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Cooper is offered in 4 trim levels: Signature three-door, Cooper S three-door, Cooper four-door, Cooper S four-door.

Here's the short version:

• Signature three-door: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and the core MINI experience without paying for extra power. It still gives you the redesigned cabin, standard safety features, and the brand’s playful personality.
• Cooper S three-door: This is the best-value trim if you care most about driving enjoyment. The extra power makes the car feel especially lively, and the expert review says the added torque is worth the price increase.
• Cooper four-door: Choose this if you want easier rear-seat access and the added practicality of the four-door body style. It keeps the same basic character while making the car more useful for everyday life.
• Cooper S four-door: This is the pick if you want the stronger engine and the added convenience of four doors. It suits you best if you want the most balanced mix of performance and practicality in the lineup.

Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-keep assist are available as part of the Active Driving Assistant package for an additional $600.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,320 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,648, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $30,648 sits slightly below last year's $32,461.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the car is especially well kept or well equipped. On the other hand, the model’s distinctive styling and strong enthusiast appeal can help support demand when you eventually sell. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2025 MINI Cooper has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes Safe Exit function, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and lane-keep assist are available through the Active Driving Assistant package, so you may need to step up from the base setup if you want those features.

One important caveat is that the integrated braking system has already been recalled, so you should confirm that any used example has had the remedy completed before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model brings a redesigned cabin, all-new infotainment tech, and a lighter, still-fun driving feel.

The bottom line: If you want the newest MINI Cooper design, the 2025 model is the one to target, especially if you value the updated cabin and the lively driving character. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025’s softer pricing and strong inventory make it a sensible place to start.

How does the 2025 MINI Cooper compare to the 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 MINI Cooper:

• Pros: Vivacious power output in S model, Sporty dynamics, Spacious interior for its size.
• Cons: Terrible infotainment, No ability to independently shift gears without ponying up, High base price.

2025 BMW 2 Series:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Standard all-wheel drive, Plenty of cargo space.
• Cons: Uninspired styling, Unintuitive technology, Firm ride quality.

Our experts score the 2025 MINI Cooper 7/10 and the 2025 BMW 2 Series 6.3/10. The MINI is the more characterful choice if you want sporty dynamics and a cabin that feels surprisingly roomy for its size. The BMW counters with standard all-wheel drive and more cargo space, but its technology and ride quality are less appealing. If style and personality matter more, the MINI has the edge; if you want a more conventional all-weather package, the BMW is the safer bet.
