How much does the 2025 Lexus IS cost?

Is the 2025 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2025 Lexus IS stands out as a compact luxury sports sedan with a long-running reputation for being fun to drive. It sits at the entry point of the Lexus lineup, which helps explain its comparatively low price point and smaller footprint, and it has long appealed to buyers who want something sporty without moving up to a larger sedan.

It also has a broad performance history, having been sold over the years with a wagon body style, a convertible, and even a high-performance V8. For 2025, the IS remains attractive because it still offers the inline-four turbo that was available from 2015 to 2025, and it is also one of the model years in which a V8 was available.

The model’s appeal is strengthened by its reputation for reliability and by the fact that it is aimed at young professionals or drivers who rarely carry passengers. At the same time, it is not the best choice for families, because the back seat is really tight.

37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2025 Lexus IS stands out as a compact luxury sports sedan with a long-running reputation for being fun to drive. It also has a reputation for reliability, which is part of why it appeals to buyers who want a sporty luxury sedan without stepping into a larger, more complicated vehicle.

For used buyers, that generally points to lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a performance-oriented sedan, especially if you focus on well-kept examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Lexus IS?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or poor repairs. Because this model is often bought for its sporty feel and premium image, condition matters a lot, so focus on maintenance records, interior wear, and how the car drives on a test route.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 975 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,214, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $45,214 sits slightly below last year's $46,239.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means the market is not pushing values upward right now. If you plan to resell later, your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented.

Because the model is still supported by steady demand and a strong reputation, a clean, well-maintained example should remain easier to move than a neglected one. The best resale outcomes will likely come from cars with accident-free histories and strong service records.

Should I buy a 2025 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• Lexus refreshed the IS with updated digital tech, revised styling, and sharper steering and suspension.

The bottom line:
The 2025 makes sense if you want a sporty luxury sedan with softer pricing and a broad pool of used listings to compare. If you care more about the newest tech and a more modern feel, the 2026 is the better path; if you care more about value, the 2025 is the one to target.
