You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the car’s actual condition and equipment. Focus your attention on cosmetic wear, interior condition, and any signs that the vehicle has been used harder than the photos suggest.

The current average of $40,454 sits slightly below last year's $54,696.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible in the used market, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. For a future seller, though, the same softness means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong shape, you’ll be better positioned to recover more of your investment later.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 26.04% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $40,311, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $40,454 average.
• It adds updates that improve comfort and infotainment.

The bottom line:
You should start with the 2025 if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, deal availability, and clean inventory. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2024 is the better value play because it costs slightly less while still offering a similar overall ownership proposition.
