Used 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar cost?

Prices have softened 12.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 556 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar a good car?

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar earns an expert rating of 6.33/10.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The Velar’s appeal comes through clearly in its stylish design, powerful engine, and comfortable cabin, and it is positioned as a more distinctive alternative in the midsize luxury SUV segment. It also gets design and comfort enhancements this year, along with improvements to the standard infotainment system, which helps freshen the package.

The trade-offs are just as clear: minor quality oversights, unintuitive technology, and unimpressive steering assist keep it from feeling fully polished. That means you should like the Velar most if you value style and a premium feel more than you value the easiest tech experience.

39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar reliable?

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is presented as a premium SUV with a comfortable cabin and a strong engine, but its technology and steering-assist behavior are the main areas that can make ownership feel less seamless.

Its infotainment system is more capable this year, with over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility, but the interface is also more complex and can be distracting to use. The driving-assistance suite is broad, and the adaptive cruise control works well, but Steer Assist is frustrating enough that you may prefer to leave it off.

The performance side is reassuring: the turbocharged six-cylinder is described as smooth, strong, and well suited to the vehicle, and the SUV is quiet and soothing on the highway. The cost-effectiveness notes also point you toward a practical ownership mindset: make peace with the tech, use the wireless smartphone integration, and avoid the steering-assist system if you want a calmer experience.

For a used buyer, the long-term risk is less about outright mechanical weakness and more about living with a premium SUV whose technology and driver-assist behavior may continue to frustrate you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with larger wheels and more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, tech operation, and whether the vehicle’s driver-assistance features behave the way you expect during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S variant is the starting point, while the Dynamic SE adds a more powerful turbocharged six-cylinder engine, expensive paint and wheel upgrades, a Black Exterior Pack, a Cold Climate Pack, and other equipment. If you want the strongest value, the Dynamic SE is the trim that most clearly adds desirable content over the base model.
• Powertrain: The Velar offers a 247-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder and a 394-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The six-cylinder is the recommended choice because it is quicker and better suited to the vehicle, though it is less efficient at 21 mpg in combined driving versus 23 mpg for the four-cylinder.
• Safety package: Every 2024 Velar comes with a comprehensive collection of advanced driving assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with a speed-limited function and Adaptive Cruise Control with Steer Assist, which combines adaptive cruise with lane-centering assistance for Level 2 hands-on driving support. The system works well overall, but Steer Assist is the weak link and can add stress instead of reducing it.
• Infotainment: The standard setup centers on an 11.4-inch touchscreen with over-the-air software updates, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and an improved interface. It also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. The downside is that the screen now handles climate and audio functions, which makes the system more distracting than it should be.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo six returns 21 mpg in combined driving, while the turbo four returns 23 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar trim should I buy?

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is offered in 2 trim levels: S and Dynamic SE.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the starting point, and it gives you the core Velar experience with the standard design, cabin, infotainment, and driver-assistance content. Choose it if you want the entry price and are comfortable keeping the equipment list simpler.
• Dynamic SE: This is the best-value trim because it adds the more powerful turbocharged six-cylinder engine along with several desirable appearance and comfort upgrades. If you want the Velar’s strongest blend of performance and presence, this is the one to target.

Every 2024 Velar comes with a comprehensive collection of advanced driving assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Steer Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but still need to be picky.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 556 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,758, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar's resale value?

The current average of $40,758 sits slightly below last year's $46,460.

That decline suggests the Velar has become more approachable for used buyers than it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be entering at a more favorable point than recent shoppers did.

For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect depreciation pressure to remain part of the ownership equation. A well-kept example with desirable equipment and strong condition should still be easier to position than a neglected one, but you should not count on especially strong resale retention.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar safe?

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 Velar comes with a comprehensive collection of advanced driving assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with a speed-limited function and Adaptive Cruise Control with Steer Assist, which combines adaptive cruise with lane-centering assistance to create a Level 2, hands-on driving assistance system.

Most of the ADAS works well, and the optional head-up display helps make it clear when features are active. The adaptive cruise control is especially strong, but Steer Assist is the weak point because it can add unwanted steering inputs and make the vehicle harder to manage rather than easier.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• This year brings design and comfort enhancements plus improvements to the standard infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest Velar with the updated design and tech changes, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a lower-priced nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2024’s updates make it the more compelling choice when you can find a good deal.
