Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover earns a 7.67/10 expert rating, and it stands out for pairing regal luxury with genuine go-anywhere capability. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It is especially appealing if you want a luxury SUV that still feels capable and practical, with competitive interior space, towing ability, and standard all-wheel drive. The trade-offs are clear: its user interface is a weak point, and it is considered poor value for money.

Cons: Unintuitive technology; poor value for money.

Good and great deals percentage: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover is presented as a polished, well-rounded luxury SUV, but its ownership story is still shaped by complexity and premium-brand costs. Its powertrain lineup is broad, and the available plug-in hybrid adds flexibility for buyers who want to reduce fuel use on shorter trips.

The expert evaluation notes that the Range Rover’s performance is strong and that its refinement is a major strength, while the tech interface is less convincing. The cost-effectiveness score is lower than its look and performance scores, which reinforces that this is a vehicle you buy for capability and presence rather than simplicity or low running costs.

Land Rover includes a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty and four-year/50,000-mile roadside assistance coverage.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about outright capability and more about whether you’re prepared for a complex, expensive luxury SUV over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle this expensive and feature-rich. Focus on overall condition, how the technology operates, and whether the cabin and exterior show signs of heavy use or deferred maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions are available, and the latter can be optioned with a third row of seats. SE models come standard with 21-inch wheels, while Autobiography and SV models get standard 22-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: The entry-level turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six uses a mild hybrid system and is rated at 395 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. A plug-in hybrid version makes 543 hp and 406 lb-ft, and a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 is also available in 523-hp and 606-hp forms.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system. Land Rover doesn’t offer anything more sophisticated, but everything that is available is standard.
• Infotainment: All models come with a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system relies heavily on the touchscreen rather than physical controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The base turbo-six powertrain achieves up to 21 mpg combined, while V8 models are rated at 19 mpg combined in standard tune and 18 mpg combined in more-powerful SV spec. The plug-in hybrid offers an EPA-rated 53 miles of electric range.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, Autobiography, and SV.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the Range Rover experience without stretching to the pricier trims. It still gives you the core luxury-and-capability formula, standard all-wheel drive, and the broad powertrain lineup, while keeping the starting price lower than the upper trims.
• Autobiography: This is the step-up trim if you want more upscale equipment and a more premium feel without going all the way to the top. It also opens the door to the available 35-speaker Meridian audio system with active noise cancellation.
• SV: This is the top-tier choice for buyers who want the most powerful and exclusive version, including the 606-hp V8 tune. It makes the most sense if performance and prestige matter more to you than value.

Standard-wheelbase models are available in all three trims, while the long-wheelbase three-row model is only available as an SE or Autobiography, and the two-row long-wheelbase Range Rover is only available in Autobiography or SV spec.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $115,368, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?

The current average of $115,368 sits slightly below last year's $136,968.

That drop suggests the market has moved in your favor if you’re buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to price more competitively to stand out. The current year-round range shows that values have already adjusted downward, so resale strength will depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment. If you plan to sell later, keeping mileage, condition, and service history in top shape will matter more than ever.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system. Land Rover doesn’t offer anything more sophisticated, but the standard suite is broad and useful for a vehicle of this size.

The safety setup is solid, but the Range Rover’s parking aids can be overly sensitive, and the camera view does not always appear automatically when needed. That makes low-speed maneuvering a little more cumbersome than it should be.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.77% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model keeps the Range Rover formula intact, with refinement, strong capability, and only limited changes for the year.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Range Rover formula and value the current market softness, the 2025 is the cleanest choice. If your priority is simply getting into a Range Rover at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but you should still focus on condition, equipment, and trim rather than year alone.
