Used 2025 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2025 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 6.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,573 listings available, which suggests you have meaningful inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender earns an 7.5/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It fits you well if you want a vehicle that can handle everyday driving and still be ready for rough terrain. The Defender’s appeal comes from its blend of serious off-road ability, multiple body styles, and a wide range of powertrains, including turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines plus V8 options. The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and poor on-pavement handling are part of the package, along with poor rear visibility.

The market looks reasonably supportive, with 37.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender reliable?

The Defender’s appeal is built around rugged capability and a more refined personality than many off-road SUVs. It also comes with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty and roadside assistance, which helps cover unexpected repairs during a typical lease term.

Its powertrain is described as robust and smooth, and the adaptive air suspension helps it ride nicely on pavement while soaking up ruts and rocks off-road. The Defender’s off-road hardware and capability are a major part of its identity, and the expert evaluation notes that it can go farther into the wilderness than many drivers expect.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a premium SUV with expensive running costs, so upkeep and fuel bills can add up quickly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any candidate carefully, especially if it has been used off-road or heavily optioned. Pay close attention to tire wear, suspension condition, and signs of cosmetic or underbody damage. It also makes sense to verify that the vehicle’s technology and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 110 four-door is the sweet spot in the lineup, while the 90 looks stubby and the 130 carries more visual mass over its rear wheels. Base pricing starts lower on the 90, and the X trim adds upgraded interior materials plus Land Rover’s off-roading technology as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, plus turbocharged or supercharged V8 options. The tested inline-six is smooth and strong, with 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, and the Defender uses an eight-speed automatic with a standard AWD system and low range.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Lane-centering assist is available when using adaptive cruise.
• Infotainment: The Defender uses an 11.4-inch touchscreen with Pivi Pro, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a configurable digital driver display, and connected services. The system also supports a Wi-Fi hotspot and remote engine start.
• Fuel efficiency: The tested six-cylinder returned 16.2 mpg in observed driving, and the window sticker called for 19 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is offered in 4 trim levels: 90, 110, 130, and OCTA.

Here's the short version:

• 90: This is the shortest, two-door version, so it suits you if you want the most compact Defender shape and don’t mind the less conventional layout.
• 110: This is the sweet spot in the lineup, balancing the Defender’s rugged character with the most broadly appealing four-door format.
• 130: Choose this if you want the extended four-door body and the most space-oriented version of the standard lineup.
• OCTA: This is the high-performance headline model for the year and the one to consider if you want the most extreme version of the Defender.

The X trim adds upgraded interior materials and Land Rover’s off-roading technology as standard equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,573 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,500, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $69,500 sits slightly below last year's $74,199.

That decline suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment because the Defender spans a wide price range. Higher-spec versions may still attract attention, but the current trend points to softer pricing than a year ago.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Land Rover equips the Defender with several driver aids, and they work in a refined manner with few reasons to complain about them. Standard features include automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Lane-centering assist is available when you use adaptive cruise.

A Driver Assistance Mode menu lets you choose High, Low, or Custom settings, and deeper adjustments are available in the vehicle settings. One caveat is that the lane-keep assist can be quite assertive, and in testing it attempted to steer the Defender into a turnout area on a local highway.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.33% compared with last year.
• The 2025 adds the high-performance Defender OCTA and a lineup that feels especially flexible.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $58,326, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $69,500 average.
• It adds new trims and features while expanding V8 availability.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds subtle styling changes, a larger touchscreen, and new color and accessory options.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest used-market mix of capability, tech, and trim variety, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If price matters more than getting the newest updates, the 2024 is the better value play.
