How much does the 2025 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 6.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,360 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 8.3/10. The Sorento is positioned as a “right-sized” family SUV, giving you more space than a compact crossover without forcing you into a larger three-row model. It also offers a broad powertrain lineup, and this gas version is the turbocharged one covered here.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

The trade-offs are real: the interior materials feel cheap, and the third row and cargo area are both limited. Even so, if you want an occasional-use third row and a family-friendly package that feels easy to live with, the Sorento fits that brief well.

37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there’s meaningful shopping room in the market.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Sorento’s appeal is reinforced by its strong warranty coverage and its reputation as an easy daily driver in a family-oriented package. Its turbocharged setup is described as satisfying, and the SUV’s overall balance of size, drivability, and usability supports confidence for everyday ownership.

The performance notes also point to a well-rounded driving experience, with the turbo engine delivering strong output and the SUV remaining composed in normal use. Kia’s long warranty coverage adds another ownership advantage, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-used example may show its age in cabin materials and space efficiency before it shows major mechanical wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia Sorento?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, cargo-area wear, and how the third row has been used, since those are the areas most likely to show the Sorento’s family-duty life.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup includes LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. The LX is the most basic version, while the higher trims add more upscale equipment, and the SX Prestige brings a more luxury-like presentation with features such as a panoramic display and richer interior materials.
• Powertrain: LX and S use a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. All other gas Sorentos use a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except the LX. SX and SX Prestige add numerous active collision-avoidance features, evasive steering assist, a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor, and the surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The Sorento uses a 24-inch panoramic display setup, and SX and SX Prestige pair a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Every 2025 Sorento has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged engine returns up to 23 mpg in combined driving, and the LX and S are described as returning up to 26 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if you want the Sorento’s size and family-friendly layout at the lowest cost, but it uses the less powerful 191-horsepower engine and misses some of the higher-trim safety and tech upgrades.
• S: Choose this if you want the same budget-friendly powertrain as the LX but are looking for a little more equipment without moving into the turbocharged trims.
• EX: This is the first trim that can be paired with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, making it a strong value if you want the Sorento’s better performance without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• SX: This trim adds a more upscale feel and unlocks more advanced safety and tech content, making it a good middle ground if you want a richer feature set.
• SX Prestige: This is the best-value choice if you want the Sorento at its most polished, with the most luxury-like cabin presentation and the most advanced equipment in the gas lineup.

Highway Driving Assist is standard on all 2025 Sorento models except the LX, and SX and SX Prestige add the most advanced safety and driver-assistance content.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,360 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,439, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $31,439 sits slightly below last year's $33,705.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has softened enough to give used buyers some leverage today. For a future seller, that means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim choice than it would be in a rising market.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you can help protect your exit value. Higher-demand trims and clean-history examples should hold up better than rougher, lower-spec versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2025 Sorento earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal impact and rollover resistance evaluations. It also earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, though that accolade is tied to the 2024 calendar year and may not carry forward.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia gives the Sorento plenty of standard safety features, and higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance tech. SX and SX Prestige bring numerous active collision-avoidance features, evasive steering assist, a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor, and the surround-view camera system. Highway Driving Assist is standard on all trims except the LX, and SX and SX Prestige upgrade it to Highway Driving Assist 2 with lane-changing functionality.

The caution flag is that the Sorento may lose its IIHS Top Safety Pick status in 2025, so you should pay attention to the latest crash-test and trim-specific safety details before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 keeps the right-sized packaging, broad powertrain choice, and updated tech from the recent refresh.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $28,728, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $31,439 average.
• It offers a value-packed family SUV with a useful blend of practicality and affordability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context, strong inventory, and the latest version of the refreshed Sorento, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the current-year market positioning, the 2024 is the smarter budget play.
