How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 1.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,441 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The refreshed K5 brings updated exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, redesigned wheels, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features, so it feels modern and well equipped. It remains a good value and is aimed at you if you want a family sedan that looks more distinctive than many rivals.

The trade-offs are that the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder has less real-world punch than the previously standard turbo four, and the car is less enjoyable to drive this year. It also still does not offer a hybrid powertrain.

The market shows 31.2% of listings as good or great deals, which is a solid sign that shoppers can still find value.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5’s appeal here starts with its broad standard equipment and its reputation for being a comfortable, well-equipped family sedan. Kia also gives you a long list of driver-assist features, and the car’s overall package is built around everyday usability rather than complexity.

The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is described as adequate and reasonably quiet, and Kia calibrates the transmission to make the most of the available power. The ride is also a strength: it is quiet, soft, smooth, and composed over rough pavement.

If you plan to keep one for the long haul, the main ownership risk is that the car’s less engaging powertrain and touch-sensitive controls may wear on you more than mechanical durability concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on overall condition, how the controls feel in daily use, and whether the features you want are present on the exact trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, and upscale EX are the more popular versions, while the GT is the fun one. The EX brings the most upscale feel, and the base trim misses some of the richer equipment that helps the car feel near-luxury.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, while the GT gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 lb-ft. AWD is optional with GT-Line trim.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX or the GT1 Package adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multi-device Bluetooth pairing, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging are standard starting with GT-Line, and EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, and our test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous test loop.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point if you want the K5’s style, standard tech, and value without paying for extras. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist, while also offering AWD. It’s the sweet spot if you want more features without jumping to the pricier trims.
• EX: This is the most upscale everyday choice, with the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking. Choose it if comfort and convenience matter most.
• GT: This is the performance-focused trim, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering ratio, and larger brakes. It’s the one to buy if you want the strongest acceleration and the most engaging setup.

The GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, while EX or the GT1 Package on the GT adds the surround-view camera system and related parking aids.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,441 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,978, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,416 sits slightly below last year's $27,882.

That softer pricing suggests the market is giving buyers a bit more leverage today than it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a more favorable entry point than last year’s shoppers had.

For a future seller, that means resale value will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and how competitively you price against similar listings. A clean history and desirable equipment should help keep demand steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist with hands-on, semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, and EX or the GT1 Package adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering assist systems can be aggravating when Highway Driving Assist is not active. The review also notes that the IIHS had not rated the car at the time, and last year’s K5 performed poorly in new IIHS assessments.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refresh brings updated styling, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,792, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,416 average.
• It offers standard turbocharging and AWD availability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, updated tech, and stronger standard equipment, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you want turbo power and available AWD.

2025 Hyundai Sonata:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Comfortable, Great safety ratings.
