How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 2.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,425 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 2025 K5 is aimed at you if you want a midsize family sedan with sharper styling, a comfortable cabin, and strong everyday value. Kia’s refresh adds new exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, redesigned wheels, and more standard features, while the cabin gets updated controls and an impressive tech setup.

The trade-offs are clear: the regular 2.5-liter engine has less real-world punch than the outgoing turbo four, and the touch-sensing climate controls are frustrating to use. It also isn’t much fun to drive unless you step up to the GT.

Even so, 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 K5 is positioned as a practical family car with a comfortable cabin and a value-focused mission, and the expert review also highlights its strong ride quality and solid daily usability. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder is described as adequate and reasonably quiet, and the transmission is tuned to make the most of the available power.

Kia also loads the car with useful ownership tech, including remote engine starting, cabin pre-conditioning, and a find-my-car function through Kia Connect. That kind of convenience can make day-to-day ownership easier if you keep the subscription active.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the base engine and touch-heavy controls may feel less satisfying over time than the rest of the car’s package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with lots of tech features. Focus on cabin condition, control usability, and whether the driver-assistance systems behave the way you expect on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, upscale EX, and GT each bring different equipment levels, and the EX stands out for its richer feature set. The base trim is the one most likely to feel light on extras compared with the higher trims.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the GT gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with much stronger output. AWD is optional with GT-Line trim.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX or the GT1 Package adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multi-device Bluetooth pairing, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard 2.5-liter engine is rated at 29 mpg in combined driving, and the test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous route.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the K5’s style, tech, and value without paying for extras you may not need.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and available AWD while keeping the K5’s sporty look.
• EX: This is the comfort-and-tech pick, with the most upscale-feeling equipment and the strongest feature content in the lineup.
• GT: This is the one to choose if you want the strongest performance, since it swaps in the turbocharged engine and sport-tuned hardware.

The GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, while EX or the GT1 Package on the GT brings the surround-view camera system and related parking aids.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,425 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,978, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,230 sits slightly below last year's $27,870.

That softer pricing trend suggests the K5 is giving buyers a bit more room today than it did a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be able to limit your depreciation exposure compared with shopping when prices were higher.

The model’s strong value positioning and broad appeal should help it stay relevant with used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX or the GT1 Package on the GT adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be annoying to use without Highway Driving Assist, and the controls for turning them off are buried in the menus.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Kia updated the K5’s styling, tech, and standard features for 2025.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,580, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,230 average.
• It keeps turbocharging standard.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest styling, updated tech, and a broader current-market selection, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you’re comfortable with the older setup, the 2024 is the value play.

How does the 2025 Kia K5 compare to the 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 Kia K5:

• Pros: Stylish design, Great ride quality, Impressive technology.
• Cons: No hybrid powertrain, Touch-sensing climate controls, Not much fun to drive (all but GT).

2025 Hyundai Sonata:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Comfortable, Great safety ratings.
