How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 2.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,358 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The refreshed K5 is aimed at you if you want a midsize family sedan that looks distinctive, feels modern, and comes well equipped. The updated exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, redesigned wheels, and new technology help it stay competitive, while the comfortable ride and strong value proposition make it appealing for everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is less punchy than the previous turbo four, and the car is less enjoyable to drive unless you step up to the GT. The touch-sensing control panel also adds frustration to the cabin experience.

Only 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5’s appeal here starts with its broad standard equipment and the sense that Kia has built in a lot of everyday usability. The car is described as a good value, and the updated tech and comfort-focused setup support the idea that it’s designed to be easy to live with over time.

The performance side is more mixed: the standard engine is adequate and reasonably quiet, but it gives up the lively low-end torque that made the previous turbo setup feel stronger. That means long-term ownership should be more about comfort and features than excitement.

Kia also includes useful ownership-friendly tech, including remote engine starting, cabin pre-conditioning, and a find-my-car function when Kia Connect is active.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s less engaging powertrain and fiddly controls may matter more as the novelty wears off.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on how the cabin controls work, whether the tech features are set up properly, and whether the car’s condition matches the trim level and equipment you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, upscale EX, and GT each bring different equipment levels. The EX stands out because it gets the most upscale-feeling cabin treatment, while the GT is the performance-oriented choice. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps versus the better-equipped versions.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the GT gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with much stronger output. The standard setup is adequate and quiet, but it is less lively than the previous turbo engine.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and leading vehicle departure alert. The GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and the EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth pairing, SiriusXM, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and the EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, while the test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous testing loop.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point if you want the K5’s style, standard tech, and broad safety equipment at the lowest price. It makes sense if you care most about value and don’t need the extra convenience features found higher up.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and available AWD, while also bringing Highway Driving Assist. If you want the most balanced mix of features and everyday usefulness, this is the one to focus on.
• EX: This is the comfort-and-tech pick. It adds the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking, making it the most upscale-feeling choice.
• GT: This is the performance trim. It swaps in the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering, and a dual-clutch transmission, so it’s the one to buy if you want the strongest acceleration and a more engaging drive.

The GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, while the EX and GT1 Package on the GT bring the most advanced camera and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but not so much discounting that every listing is a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,358 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,976, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,548 sits slightly below last year's $28,158.

That modest decline suggests the K5 has softened a bit in the market, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future resale gains are limited if prices keep easing. If you plan to sell later, the current trend points to a model that should remain reasonably marketable, but not one that is likely to surge in value.

The K5’s strong value story and broad feature set should help it stay attractive to used shoppers. Its distinctive styling and good equipment mix also support demand, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and leading vehicle departure alert. The GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, which provides hands-on semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, and the EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be aggravating when Highway Driving Assist is not active, and the controls for turning them off are buried in the menus.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed model brings updated lighting, revised styling, redesigned wheels, and more standard technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,939, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,548 average.
• It offers strong value with standard turbocharging and available AWD.

The bottom line: If you want the newest styling, updated tech, and the strongest current-market inventory signals, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you’re comfortable giving up the refresh, the 2024 is the smarter budget alternative.
