How much does the 2025 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 1.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,433 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The refreshed K5 brings updated exterior lighting, revised front and rear styling, redesigned wheels, new technology, redesigned dashboard controls, and more standard features. It remains a good value and is aimed at you if you want a family sedan that looks more distinctive than many rivals.

The trade-offs are that the only turbocharged version is now the GT sports sedan, while other models use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with less real-world punch than the previous turbo four. It’s also less enjoyable to drive than before, and it still does not offer a hybrid powertrain.

The market shows 34.8% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The K5’s overall package points to solid everyday dependability for you if you want a comfortable, well-equipped midsize sedan. Kia’s updated tech and standard feature set help the car feel modern, and the 2025 model’s family-sedan mission is reinforced by its comfortable ride and practical layout.

The performance notes also support that it’s tuned for daily use rather than drama: the 2.5-liter four-cylinder is described as adequate and reasonably quiet, and the transmission is calibrated to make the most of the available power. Kia also highlights useful ownership conveniences such as Kia Connect features and digital key capability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s less engaging powertrain and touch-sensitive controls may be more frustrating over time than mechanically troublesome.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, driver-assistance systems, and control interfaces, since the K5 leans heavily on technology. Pay close attention to how the cabin controls work in practice and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LXS, sporty-looking GT-Line, upscale EX, and GT each bring different equipment levels. The EX stands out for its more premium feel, while the GT is the fun-focused version. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps versus the higher trims.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The GT uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 290 hp and 311 lb-ft, while all-wheel drive is optional with GT-Line trim.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist, and EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing.
• Infotainment: Every 2025 K5 has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with multi-device Bluetooth pairing, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Kia Connect services. Navigation and wireless charging start with GT-Line, and EX adds a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA fuel economy estimate is 29 mpg in combined driving, and our test car averaged 24.9 mpg on a mountainous testing loop.

Which 2025 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, so it’s the trim to consider if you want the K5’s style, standard tech, and value without paying for extras. It makes sense if you care most about getting into the model at the lowest cost.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, wireless charging, and available all-wheel drive, while also bringing Highway Driving Assist. If you want the most balanced mix of features and everyday usefulness, start here.
• EX: This is the upscale choice, with the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking. It suits you if comfort and convenience matter more than price.
• GT: This is the performance-oriented trim, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, faster steering ratio, and larger brakes. Choose it if you want the quickest and most engaging K5.

The GT-Line and EX also benefit from the stronger safety and convenience equipment mentioned above, while the GT1 Package on the GT adds the EX-level equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia K5?

The market looks moderately favorable for selective buyers.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,986, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $27,356 sits slightly below last year's $27,900.

That softer pricing suggests the K5 is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can matter if you’re planning to sell later. A lower current average can make it easier for you to buy well now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless demand stays strong.

The model’s distinctive styling, strong feature content, and broad appeal as a family sedan should help support interest over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Kia K5 safe?

The 2025 Kia K5 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every K5 with a long list of driver-assist features, including intersection turn assistance, active blind-spot collision avoidance, and a leading vehicle departure alert when traffic ahead starts moving again. GT-Line adds Highway Driving Assist with hands-on, semi-autonomous acceleration, braking, and steering, and its standard navigation system enables curve speed reduction for adaptive cruise control. EX adds a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, side parking sensors, and automatic braking when reversing during parking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering assist systems can be aggravating when Highway Driving Assist is not active. The controls for turning them off are also buried in the menus, which can make them harder to manage than they should be.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 refresh brings updated exterior lighting, revised styling, redesigned wheels, new technology, and more standard features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,661, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $27,356 average.
• It offers turbocharging standard and all-wheel drive availability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, updated tech, and stronger standard equipment, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
