The 2025 Kia EV6 earns an expert rating of 7.83/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

That score lines up with the EV6’s appeal as a stylish, practical electric crossover with one of the more sophisticated EV platforms in its class. For 2025, you also get an exterior facelift, a revised interior, increased battery capacity, a new charging port, modified steering, frame enhancements, and next-generation infotainment technology. The trade-offs are real, though: the onboard technology can be quirky, voice recognition is frustrating, safety features can be aggravating, and cargo space is not especially generous.

Is the 2025 Kia EV6 reliable?

The 2025 Kia EV6 is presented as a well-built, technologically advanced EV with a premium feel, and its updated platform and revised frame reinforce that impression. The EV6’s 800-volt charging system is a major engineering strength, and the model’s quick charging and solid road feel support the idea that Kia has built it to handle regular use well.

The performance side also points to a strong ownership experience: the EV6 offers plenty of range, quick recharging, and a sophisticated electric platform that should suit daily commuting and longer trips if you plan charging well. Kia also includes generous warranty coverage and roadside assistance, which helps reduce ownership anxiety.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the basic hardware and more about living with the EV6’s technology and charging ecosystem over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Kia EV6?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one that has seen frequent fast charging. Pay close attention to the condition of the battery, charging port, infotainment behavior, and any driver-assistance features that may feel overly intrusive in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EV6 is sold in Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT trim levels. The base Light is the simplest version, while higher trims add more range, more power, and more equipment. The GT-Line test vehicle showed how the cabin can feel upscale, with SynTex upholstery standard and suede seat inserts available for an upcharge.
• Powertrain: You can shop single-motor rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. The Light uses a 63-kWh battery with 167 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the larger-battery versions offer 225 hp in single-motor form or 320 hp and 446 lb-ft in dual-motor AWD form.
• Safety package: Kia equips the EV6 with plenty of driver aids, including Highway Driving Assist 2, which pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist. The model also includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, but some features can be overly aggressive in practice.
• Infotainment: The EV6 uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system’s software, layout, and graphics are new for 2025.
• Range & charging: Range runs from 237 miles on the Light to as much as 310 miles depending on configuration and wheel size. The larger battery is 84 kWh, and DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes under ideal conditions.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should verify battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also check how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2025 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia EV6 is offered in 5 trim levels: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry point, and it makes the EV6’s style and core EV hardware accessible. It’s the one to consider if you want the lowest starting price and can live with the smaller battery and simpler setup.
• Light Long Range: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds the larger battery and more usable range without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• Wind: This trim is the sensible step up if you want the larger battery and a more complete equipment mix while staying below the GT-Line.
• GT-Line: This is the trim to target if you want the most polished everyday experience, especially the upscale cabin presentation and the stronger available dual-motor AWD setup.
• GT: This is the performance-focused choice for buyers who want the most powerful version and are willing to pay for it.

Kia’s safety and driver-assistance setup is broad, but some features can be intrusive, so it’s worth testing them on your route before you buy.

The 2025 Kia EV6 earns top scores in the IIHS tests completed so far.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the EV6 with plenty of driver aids, including Highway Driving Assist 2, which combines adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, and lane-change assist for highway use. The model also includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, but some of the active-safety interventions can feel overly aggressive in real-world driving.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2025 model’s updates matter to you, including the facelift, revised interior, increased battery capacity, new charging port, and next-generation infotainment technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most updated EV6 experience, the 2025 model is the one to target because it layers meaningful improvements onto an already appealing EV. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025’s updates and strong accident-free inventory make it the cleaner choice for shoppers who want the latest version.
