How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 11.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 3,854 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Santa Fe is aimed squarely at family use, with a longer wheelbase that gives it more interior space and a feature set that makes sense in a vehicle of this size. It also stands out for its bold styling, which gives it a distinctive look compared with more traditional family SUVs.

The trade-offs are that it is not the roomiest choice in its class, and top trims can get expensive.

With 43.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Hyundai’s own positioning and the expert notes both point to a family SUV built around practicality, and the model’s great warranty adds confidence for ownership. The expert review also highlights multiple powertrain options and a strong feature set, which can help the Santa Fe feel well-rounded over time.

The performance notes describe the Santa Fe as stable in corners with a firm brake feel and responsive steering, though there is noticeable turbo lag and occasional hesitation on downshifts. Hyundai also backs the vehicle with a long powertrain warranty and free roadside assistance, which helps reduce ownership anxiety.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-trim complexity and premium features can make repairs or upkeep more expensive if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong clean-inventory rate, you should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on condition, feature operation, and signs of wear on higher-trim equipment, since this model can be loaded with technology and comfort features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Santa Fe comes in five trims: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy. The base trim starts with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard safety tech, but higher trims add more convenience and luxury features. The Calligraphy stands out with captain’s chairs in place of the second-row bench, while the XRT adds black exterior trim and black roof rails.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available across the lineup except the XRT, which is AWD only. The XRT also gets 30-inch all-terrain tires and extra ground clearance.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward-collision avoidance assist, lane keeping and lane following assist, and safe exit assist. Rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist are reserved for higher trims. The top trim adds blind spot avoidance, and the top two trims get Blind-View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluelink app connectivity, and over-the-air updates. Only the top two trims get a digital gauge cluster of the same size, and navigation is not standard on every trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The ICE model is rated at 24 mpg combined with front-wheel drive or 23 mpg with all-wheel drive. The XRT returns 22 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core Santa Fe experience with the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and standard driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and do not need the extra luxury or convenience features found higher up.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment without pushing the price into the upper-trim territory. It also benefits from the expanded driver monitor system, which is not standard on every trim.
• XRT: This is the one to choose if you want the more rugged-looking version and plan to spend time on dirt roads or rougher surfaces. It adds black exterior trim, black roof rails, all-terrain tires, and extra ground clearance, but it is not the most efficient or most road-trip-friendly choice.
• Limited: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale Santa Fe with more of the premium content that pushes the model toward the top of the range. It is a better fit if comfort and convenience matter more than value.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most premium presentation, 21-inch wheels, captain’s chairs, and available head-up display. It is the trim to buy if you want the most upscale Santa Fe and are comfortable paying for it.

Safety equipment is strong across the lineup, but some driver-assistance features still require stepping up to higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?

The market looks buyer-friendly right now, with solid deal availability and a meaningful price drop versus last year.

• Deal availability: 43.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,854 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,253, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $32,364 sits slightly below last year's $36,464.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than a shopper who paid closer to the original average. Strong demand for well-equipped family SUVs can also help support resale, especially for clean examples with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward-collision avoidance assist, lane keeping and lane following assist, and safe exit assist. Higher trims add rear parking collision avoidance assist, side park distance warning, and Highway Drive Assist. The top trim also adds blind spot avoidance, while the top two trims get Blind-View Monitor.

IIHS also notes weaker results in the headlight and LATCH categories, where the Santa Fe scored Acceptable.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 43.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings bold styling, a longer wheelbase, and a strong mix of technology and family-friendly features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $30,809, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $32,364 average.
• It offers a full redesign with a bold look and standard third-row seating.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a new transmission, more safety features, and minor equipment updates.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and feature content, the 2025 is the best starting point. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the more budget-friendly path, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the latest updates and are willing to pay for them.
