Used 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric for Sale nearRochester, MN

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric earns an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a value-focused electric crossover with fresh styling, a long list of features for the money, and a strong starting price. That makes it a good fit if you want an EV that feels well equipped without pushing your budget too far.

The trade-offs are clear: acceleration is fairly pedestrian, and all-wheel drive is not available. Even so, it remains a competent and comfortable electric car for cost-conscious buyers who care more about features and price than outright speed.

With 33.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is presented as a competent, comfortable EV with a strong warranty package and complimentary maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs. Hyundai covers the powertrain and battery for 10 years or 100,000 miles, and it includes complimentary maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

Its electric setup is straightforward: a single motor, front-wheel drive, and a battery system designed for everyday commuting rather than maximum performance. The battery pre-conditioning system also helps prepare the pack for DC fast charging, which is useful for consistent charging behavior in colder or less ideal conditions.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that battery condition and charging history matter more than they do on a conventional car, so you’ll want to pay close attention to how the battery has been used and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where battery condition and charging habits matter. Focus on overall condition, charging equipment, and whether the car has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level SE is the most basic version, with cloth seating and fewer features than higher trims. The N Line adds a sportier appearance with special 19-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, unique front and rear fasciae, black mirrors, ambient lighting, faux-leather and Alcantara upholstery, wireless device charging, and Digital Key 2. The Limited adds leatherette, parking aids, a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-View Monitor.
• Powertrain: The Kona Electric uses a single electric motor and front-wheel drive only. The base setup makes 133 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, while the larger battery version increases output to 201 hp and 291 lb-ft. Efficiency and range improve with the larger pack, though the N Line’s range is lower than the standard long-range version.
• Safety package: Every trim gets SmartSense, including front automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and Highway Driving Assist. The Limited trim adds parking aids, a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot. The system also includes native navigation with charging suggestions. N Line and Limited trims add wireless device charging, and the higher trims also get Digital Key 2.
• Range & charging: The base battery is 48.6 kWh with 200 miles of range. The larger battery is 64.8 kWh with 261 miles of range, though the N Line is rated at 230 miles. DC fast charging takes over 40 minutes from 10% to 80%, and home charging can take five to six hours.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

• N-Line: Choose this if you want the sportier look, plus extras like ambient lighting, faux-leather and Alcantara upholstery, wireless device charging, and Digital Key 2. It adds style and convenience more than core capability.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich trim, with leatherette, parking aids, a surround-view camera system, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-View Monitor. It’s the right pick if you want the most convenience and driver-assistance hardware.
