Used 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric for Sale nearAppleton, WI

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric earns an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a value-focused electric crossover with fresh styling, a long list of features for the money, and standard advanced safety equipment. That makes it a strong fit if you want an EV that feels well equipped without pushing into a higher price bracket.

The main trade-offs are clear: acceleration is fairly pedestrian, and all-wheel drive is not available. If you want the quickest EV in the class or extra traction, you’ll want to keep shopping.

With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is presented as a competent, comfortable electric crossover with a strong warranty and complimentary maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership worry. Hyundai covers the powertrain and battery for 10 years or 100,000 miles, and the limited warranty lasts five years or 60,000 miles.

Its electric setup is straightforward, with a single motor and front-wheel drive, and the battery pre-conditioning system helps prepare the pack before DC fast charging. The performance notes also point to a calm, commuter-friendly driving character rather than a high-strung one.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is mostly about battery and charging-condition diligence, so you should verify how the car was charged and confirm the battery still behaves normally under load and during fast charging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where battery condition, charging behavior, and software operation matter as much as cosmetic wear. Focus on how the car charges at home and on DC fast chargers, and make sure the cabin tech, driver-assistance features, and charging-port equipment all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: SE, SEL, N-Line, and Limited are the trims to compare. The base model misses some of the nicer touches, while N-Line adds a sportier appearance with special wheels, a rear spoiler, unique fasciae, black mirrors, and upgraded seating materials. Limited adds the most convenience and parking tech, including a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-View Monitor.
• Powertrain: The Kona Electric uses a single front-wheel-drive motor. The base setup makes 133 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, while the larger battery version increases output to 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. It is competent rather than quick, and the driving character is tuned more for commuting than for sporty acceleration.
• Safety package: Every trim gets Hyundai SmartSense, including front automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Limited adds parking aids such as a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot. The system also includes EV-specific pages and native navigation that can suggest charging stops and route options.
• Range & charging: The base battery is 48.6 kWh and is good for 200 miles of range. The larger battery is 64.8 kWh and increases range to 261 miles, though the N-Line’s range drops to 230 miles. DC fast charging takes over 40 minutes from 10% to 80%, and home charging can take about five to six hours.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm normal charging speeds, and ask how often the car was DC fast charged versus charged at home. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains and whether the car has any charging-related warnings or unusual range loss.

Which 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N-Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it is also the least compelling if you care about range and power. It gets the standard battery and the lowest output, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest possible starting price and are comfortable with the most basic setup.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It balances price and equipment well, and the source material specifically points to it as the trim to get because it lands in the sweet spot between affordability and features.
• N-Line: Choose this if you want the sportier look and a more distinctive cabin. It adds the 19-inch wheels, rear spoiler, unique fasciae, black mirrors, and upgraded seat materials, plus wireless device charging and Digital Key 2.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich choice. It adds the most convenience and parking technology, along with Blind-View Monitor and the strongest overall equipment list, but it also pushes the price up the most.

Every trim gets Hyundai SmartSense, including front automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and Highway Driving Assist.
